I have this rice cooker and been using it for 4+ years now. Perfect size if making rice for just one person. Might be a bit small otherwise. Only thing is when making rice with full 3 cups, sometimes the water will spurt out when cooking, but no big deal. Can't really beat for the price!
I would try Kohls right now, to score higher models/capacity with their two $10 off coupons, and 20% off ones, and possibly $5 off credit for store pickup, and if you have kohls cash or kohls rewards eRned, then you might get rock-bottom for higher end models. You can get right now Hamton Beach 16 cup on SALE 27.99 minus 10 minus 20% off for less than this price but much higher capacity one (16 cup vs. This 6 cup). Even better, opt in for store pickup for additional 5 credit, and if you have kohls cash or rewards, it could be free. For free shipping if needed, use app inside their store or use their terminal.

I would suggest do some tests on several higher models what you can get for the best value because those 2 $ 10 coupons, and 20% off stack for these over 50 including those on already sale. I was able to get $56 one HB 30 cup model in black for $18 free ship, almost this price but much higher value and highly rated. (Though I used additional 15 in kohls reward that I had no use for, before expiring)
Had this rice cooker for a few years. It'll get the job done, but the final product won't be quite as fluffy and have a worse mouth feel overall when compared to a Zojirushi or Tiger rice cooker. Sounds a bit snobby, but if you eat rice regularly the extra investment is definitely worth it.

Cheap and works well for making oatmeal, grits, and quinoa.

I bought the aroma rice cooker and steamer off amazon for $20. I usually do 1 or 2 cups uncooked rice. Which lasts me 3-4 days if I have rice once a day. And yes water does splash out of the steamer hole while cooking. Do you cover the steamer hole with plastic wrap while in fridge after cooking? I want to use the steamer eventually, I'll buy frozen veggies and dumplings/ potstickers in my next Costco order

I have this rice cooker. I usually cook two or three "cups" of rice at a time and water never splashes out of the lid. If you have this problem you're overfilling with water, and/or not washing your rice well enough.

I fill to about 2-3mm below the suggested water level, and I always wash my rice at least 4x and this rice cooker always turns out great rice.

If you have the time, let your rice soak for at least an hour before cooking.

And a tiger or zojirushi makes a difference for Jasmine rice? I thought it only made a difference for short grain rice

That would refer to the brand "Zojirushi". I think it has its pros and cons. Check youtube for those clickbaity "$10 rice cooker vs $200 rice cooker!" videos for a comparison.

Had this for years , it works good and this most is the only one I can find besides the really expensive ones that has a chemical free , non PFOA /PTFE coating
This is why I got this one
The steam attachment is great for making gyoza or wontons or bao while cooking rice , the cons are that it leaves a skin on the rice especially if you don't get it out of the cooker the second it pops ,also you have to remember to unplug it right after it pops becat it doesn't turn off itself

Just used mine today. Put 2 real cups in and filled to "2" on the fill line of the pot.
It nearly filled the pot. Not much space for much more rice or water.
Rice was fine compared to our usual Tiger rice cooker. This one is going to a rental for my kids apartment next year.

i suggest getting the nutribullet on sale at amazon now for $55.55 they are normally $79,99 .a friend has this and it is great. its a purchase one makes every 3-4 years so i prefer to spend a little more and get something that looks good on the kitchen counter.
