I'm pretty sure I asked opinions about this item, not whether I needed it or not.

Is it just me or has Amazon basics become the lowest common denominator for many goods?

And I mean below most of the Chinese / no-name competitors.

There are so many Amazon basics items that I've ordered recently that have been absolute garbage.

If you sort the reviews by the newest, most of them are pretty terrible.

It's concerning that the featured reviews paint a completely different picture.

Anyone have one of these that can give an opinion?

I'd like to get a small food processor since my usage will not be all that often and this price seems pretty decent.

You should figure out if you need a food processor or a food chopper

I use a Sunbeam Oscar to make "soft Ice cream" from frozen bananas and it does a great job... I want to get one for work since work gives us free snacks including bananas... I wonder if this one should do OK?

I was looking at the review one of the picture shows a piece of plastic attach to slicing broke off. Might just be this one case.

In most cases, it is actually the Chinese stuff, just rebranded.

reviews say otherwise. besides any of the 4 cup processors have small motor inside, motor that are under-powered to do a good job. a lot of time they have a DC motor inside, rectified to run on AC . 7+ cup is the way to go, you may have to pay 2X now, but the bigger one will outlast 2X the number of years the little flimsy processor will.
