I believe they meant is a lot companies who bought Herman Miller chair for employees would be selling those chairs as they liquidate from bankruptcy and the chair flood the 2nd hand market.

Herman Miller is not itself is not "a lot of companies" and will be fine like you said and will likely provide support for those 2nd hand chairs if any issues come up.

Call a local dealer and you'll likely get Embody or Aeron for under $1k. That's what I did almost 2 years ago, and still love my Embody.

I picked one up on FB marketplace and I know there are stores out there which sell these used/refurb for a good price. Good deal if you want a new one.

Call a local dealer and you'll likely get Embody or Aeron for under $1k. That's what I did almost 2 years ago, and still love my Embody.

I've been eyeballing an Embody for a while now. Even with this sale, I feel like there's way better pricing through one of their authorized distributors. I'm sure this pricing is not valid anymore, but in 2021 I had one quote me $945 + tax with local pickup. Graphite base/frame, black sync fabric.

That's what I hear too. But they never offered me any discount even after going into the stores. I have been waiting for this sale since the summer. They told me they do this sale in the spring too.

I hate the sayl chair, if you wear pants with buttons in the back pocket, that chair back eats it up
(your button get stuck between the holes and rips your button out)

since i work from home now, wearing sweatpants i can tolerate it

For those unfamiliar, yes these chairs are worth the price and yes, if you sit for a long time they are absolutely life changing.

Aeron chair for me, I did pick up my home (used) one for $500 on the FBMP, was not a lucky winner when Covid cleared the offices and some employees walked out with their company provided aerons for their home setup :-(

Damn, overpaid for my Embody last time these were on sale. Only ~$90 difference so for the 6 months I've had it, I'd say it was worth lol. Never giving this chair up now.

Maybe they meant companies in general that buys HM chairs. Companies do go belly up (or they close a particular building or something) and then they try to sell off their furniture and equipment. You'll be getting second-hand chairs but it'll be a lot cheaper. General replacement parts are also available

As for this particular sale, the gaming markup is a little too high even with the discount. My normal Embody back from 2011 was $1200. Still going strong.
