I mean for people thinking this is the shiz.. new Xbox and Playstation fall 2024 at the latest. Applause Just saying.. that's how it goes. Save your $

*It would normally be 2023 of course.. but we all believe that because of scarcity, 2024 sadly.

** for double Sony fanboys.. don't worry.. you'll get last of us 2 remake 5x over until then. Maybe even a God of War Ragnarok 3x over as well.. most likely. Call it it "exclusive" before it comes to PC next year.
Most insiders are speculating that there won't be a mid-gen refresh like there was last generation. Last generation, the consoles launched with hardware multiple generations behind PC hardware, especially the CPUs. They were using ancient, poor performance hardware the day they came out. This generation, consoles launched with performance parity to mid-high end gaming PCs. On top of that, we can see with the new generation CPUs that Moore's law is basically dead. CPU generational performance increases are basically at a standstill, with only increasing the wattage (and therefore heat) increasing gaming performance. GPUs have also had to drastically increase wattage and size to increase performance. There won't be much performance to gain with the small form factor thermal limitations. Plus, with inflation and recession pretty much killing any major expensive R&D, more powerful consoles would be even more expensive to make. $1,000 consoles won't sell well, and would cause Sony/Microsoft to lose a massive amount of money. Not to mention, AMD is holding back it's own CPU and GPU releases, because their products aren't selling, and they have a major oversupply of Ryzen 5000 and RDNA2 chips. The next big upgrade will probably be AMD 3D-vcache APU powered consoles, but they're already holding back their own 3d-vcache GPUs until late next year, and aren't planning on releasing their own 3d-vcache APUs until 2026.

Nice deal. Too bad it not for me yet. I like video games and am the minority here so I'll wait for digital edition for sub $400. I only play games less than 2 hours per week and buy 1 or 2 games per year. I value convenience and time.

Are the deals for disc games really that much better than the deals for digital games?
Is this a real question? Disc games are often $39 within a couple months of a games release. With games now costing $70, do the math.. a systems life is roughly 7 years. You'll save hundreds plus the trade in value

The PS3 was one of the best Blu-Ray purchases a person could make back in 05. The same cannot be said about the PS5. Sony for whatever reason doesn't allow people to resell game codes. You can typically always find Xbox resellers that charge 66% less than actual Xbox store. Preordered Shadowrun for 29.99 only to see it on eBay for 8 dollars or so.

Just bought my 2nd PS5, will keep it unopened until there is a solid homebrew community now that it has been exploited.

It's slick because it's actually in stock. For two years it's been extremely hard to get.

Was thinking about this too. I probably wait til jailbreak to get one though. Got a huge backlog on my jailbroken ps4 including the new God of War game.
