these cheap phones are great to keep at in the car, at work, or in your bag just in case for emergencies. just remember to at least use them about once a month to keep them active else they could go inactive and then game over.

Yes. If you wait 60 days before transferring the minutes/airtime and haven't added 4+ lines to your account already, you'll also get 10k points per line. 20k points is worth much more than 120 (60*2) days of airtime, so that's usually the way to go (plus then you can unlock the phones and make them more useful as a donation if you just care about the airtime.)

This is essentially 20k points (2x Add-a-Line bonuses) on Tracfone for $30, 20k points gets you a $300 off coupon. That gets you multiple refurbished iPhone XRs you can trade in for a Pixel 7 or for Apple GC credit.

if you are brand new to tracfone dont forget to use a referral code for 5,000 points. then if you want to activate the other phone just add it to your account and get another 10,000 points. google "tracfone referral"

Seems like an exercise in frustration and major time waster dealing with Tracfone. Not worth it for rewards.

Their phone service seems to work well (2 kid phones + senior phone), but they need to either try harder or get rid of their rewards program. They failed to give me 20,000 points that I earned in a recent new line activation promo.

make sure this exact phone model number is att whitelisted, att very fussy which phones they allow on their network...

From majority of reviews on these models on Verizon website it seems these are close to be complete junk (majority complain about battery life and longevity but there are other issues as well) as far as phone devices so he might not appreciate your kind gesture if it ends up being the case for him as well.

I think you may have scare people a little here. You are not wrong, but VZW "used to" use CDMA in 3G era! It is almost impossible to find any active CDMA band in the U.S. consider they will complete phrase out 3G band no later than.. well, in 2 months. ( I don't think there is any active Tmobile or ATT 3G band anymore )

I think instead of saying "VZW is CDMA", you can simply state...
as long as your phone has competible 4G LTE and 5G bands, you can activate any phone in VZW.
4G with 2, 4, 5, 13, 46, 48, 66 band
5G with n2, n5, n77, n66, n261, n260 ( of course, mmw is over-rated, you are not going to see these 2 bands outside of major cities where high rises.)

Oh.. and VZW and Tracfone did NOT terminate my account when I used the sim in unlocked Tmobile Oneplus 10 pro neither.
