these cheap phones are great to keep at in the car, at work, or in your bag just in case for emergencies. just remember to at least use them about once a month to keep them active else they could go inactive and then game over.

Yes. If you wait 60 days before transferring the minutes/airtime and haven't added 4+ lines to your account already, you'll also get 10k points per line. 20k points is worth much more than 120 (60*2) days of airtime, so that's usually the way to go (plus then you can unlock the phones and make them more useful as a donation if you just care about the airtime.)

On multi-line accounts, does each line have their own service balance and expiration date, or all line share the same?

Yes, but only after the phone is unlocked. It just needs to be activated with the sim in this phone for 60 consecutive days to qualify for unlock. Then you can use it on any network.

Probably not as well as most Tracfone phones. Seems the Orbic last bands 66 and 71 (newer T-Mobile bands) and it's not on AT&T's whitelist. A better flip option is the Alcatel/TCL Flip 2 that was on sale recently. I would pass on this one and wait if you want to unlock and have more flexible network options.
