these cheap phones are great to keep at in the car, at work, or in your bag just in case for emergencies. just remember to at least use them about once a month to keep them active else they could go inactive and then game over.

Yes. If you wait 60 days before transferring the minutes/airtime and haven't added 4+ lines to your account already, you'll also get 10k points per line. 20k points is worth much more than 120 (60*2) days of airtime, so that's usually the way to go (plus then you can unlock the phones and make them more useful as a donation if you just care about the airtime.)

I got a 8k point referral code from reddit, and after typing in it said congrats for earning 8k. However when I check the pending rewards, it only showed 5k. Asked thru chat and the CS insisted that the system shoed that code is only getting 5k. Not sure what happened but RIP my 3k points...

They stopped giving the higher referral amount not too long ago, sometime around beginning of November. Max now is 5000 as you found out.

Started combining my old number with this and it merged, the expiration date was extended a year but no minutes/texts/data were added.

They are escalating and I hope it gets fixed. This is very odd. I thought everything would work or nothing would work.

Not that upset as the time extension is more important as I rarely use this number. Waiting till they fix this to activate the second phone.

Anyone else have this issue? Thanks

I wanted to share my experience in ADDING two lines to my existing Tracfone account (ebay phone from September with one year of service).

I started a chat and wrote...


"Hi. My name is John Smith. I am writing about the account for Tracfone number 202-555-1212 (IMEI 12121212121212). I would like to ADD a phone to my account FOR LATER ACTIVATION. I do not want to activate the phone now. The IMEI for the new phone is 0987654321. Thanks."

Side note: I had my account called up on my laptop and the new phone appeared instantly as well as the rewards points (10k). He then asked if there was anything else and I wrote....

"I would also like to add another phone FOR LATER ACTIVATION. I do not want to activate the phone now. The IMEI for the new phone is 1234567890."

Again the line appeared instantly along with the rewards points (10k).

One more thing: At bootup, the first thing I got was a pop-up to connect to wifi. I ignored it and proceeded with start up. Unfortunately, the phone did not activate properly. I am working with customer service to get that rectified. Online it shows as active. I am simply getting no service.

On the second phone I received a wifi pop-up again (immediately after booting up before proceeding to any screen). This time I connected to my wifi and continued booting. Service connected immediately. Not sure if wifi connection had anything to do with it.

Better option is to get $1 BYOP sim from Target and activate it as keep current number. See mini-guide in Wiki.

So I activate the service on the flip phone with the sim that it came with. Buy the Target BYOP sim kit https://www.target.com/p/tracfone...lsrc=aw.ds insert it to my unlocked android phone. Activate it using the Tracfone app. Pick option keep current number. Use the number that was provided on the flip phone. Does this sound right? Sorry I'm new to all this

exactly, that's the best way to use service in another phone. you can buy a BYOP TF sim in lots of places (Tracfone website, Tracfone's ebay store, Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Amazon - just check price first, shouldn't be more than $1)

Not if you're moving from a current number that already has service - it all moves to the new phone BYOP sim when you activate it by keeping your current number.
