Not if you're moving from a current number that already has service - it all moves to the new phone BYOP sim when you activate it by keeping your current number.
Gotcha.
What is the latest I can wait to active one of the flip phones? I'm thinking of using it to extend the service for 2 years.

On the second phone I received a wifi pop-up again (immediately after booting up before proceeding to any screen). This time I connected to my wifi and continued booting. Service connected immediately. Not sure if wifi connection had anything to do with it.
Irrelevant. My Orbic completed activation without wifi.

So I activate the service on the flip phone with the sim that it came with. Buy the Target BYOP sim kit https://www.target.com/p/tracfone...lsrc=aw.ds insert it to my unlocked android phone. Activate it using the Tracfone app. Pick option keep current number. Use the number that was provided on the flip phone. Does this sound right? Sorry I'm new to all this
When you are transferring #/balance to BYOP sim, it's recommended to do with CSR in case there's an error. Before activation, I confirm the current balance with CSR and then after activation/transfer, I ask CSR to confirm the balance again. In rare occasions, TF loses the balance during transfer, which is easier to fix if CSR did the transfer.

Activate one flip, wait till number is active and next day activate the 2nd flip, again keeping the number of first one. You will then have 2 years of service & can activate a BYOP sim moving your service to a decent phone. You don't need to wait for the first year to expire, I've got a couple of lines that are paid up for several years with large balances.

Are you missing a step? When you activate second one, it gives 1 year on each

that's why I said you would have 2 years of service after activating the 2nd one keeping the current number -

Not OP. Curious, if you do this, you will only get 10k rewards pt because you don't add 2 lines. Correct?

this was for someone not interested in waiting 60 days for rewards. for rewards to get added you can't make any changes to the account while rewards are pending and they must be new lines with new numbers. if you add 2 new lines & wait for 60 days for rewards to get added then you can have support combine or merge the 2 flip lines into one (you can choose which number you want to keep, other line becomes inactive). after that you can activate BYOP sim (keeping current number) on your preferred unlocked phone which will make both flip phones inactive.

Yes, that's the route. Or activate it on their website. Good luck!

Sorry, I have no idea. I've never had issues with activating. Go back to TF chat and try again, then ask them to escalate if no joy.

after 10+ calls, escalation, they said phone is defective and ask me to return the phone to HSN, it looks like the phone can't find the sim card for some reason. I asked if they can provide another sim card to try, they declined. So I am arranging an exchange of the phones with HSN

I had to retry 4 or 5 times on mine last night before it worked. Kept telling me to call an 800 number (Verizon). I had chat add it to my account before trying for the first time.

Thanks. These Orbics seem very flakey. Seen some not even booting up. Well, good luck.
