these cheap phones are great to keep at in the car, at work, or in your bag just in case for emergencies. just remember to at least use them about once a month to keep them active else they could go inactive and then game over.

Yes. If you wait 60 days before transferring the minutes/airtime and haven't added 4+ lines to your account already, you'll also get 10k points per line. 20k points is worth much more than 120 (60*2) days of airtime, so that's usually the way to go (plus then you can unlock the phones and make them more useful as a donation if you just care about the airtime.)

Have the same problem. One out of the two phones works fine. One doesn't recognize the sim. I have both activated on the website but one phone just doesn't see the sim. I am sure it's probably a defective phone or something. These are really cheap crappy phones for sure.

Agreed. For me, one phone just doesn't see the sim no matter what I do. 50% success rate. :-) one phone works, other one doesn't recognize the sim.

I have tried a few times to add the two phones to my account, but 10k pts never showed up!
Anyone had similar experience?

I added a new iphone at the same time and 10k pts showed. I wonder if tracfone now limits pts awarded to smart phones only? Any thoughts?

Has to be done by chat (instructions are in most TF threads since August when they started the bonus deal).
Adding a new line yourself doesn't trigger the bonus rewards for some reason.

It was done by chat. No pending 10k pts showed up after IMEI was added...... Tried a few times

Use Chat to add a line! No need to mention bonus points at all. Tell the agent that you'd like to add a new Tracfone device to your existing account (xxx) xxx-xxxx. The agent will ask for the new phone IMEI (sometimes SIM # but it's really not necessary for a TF-branded phone with the original Verizon SIM) and send a 6-digit code to your main line for verification (this is key for points to be added). If the agent asks for your 4-digit Account PIN, do not give it to them. Sometimes they will ask for your email, don't provide that either. Remind the agent that this is to add a line to your main account, you already have an account PIN, and you don't need a new profile. Some agents will try to activate the new device before adding to your account, do not allow this to happen (no points this way). Ask the agent if they could add the device for later activation (should be Yes). Check your account in TF app, the pending add-a-line bonus points should appear within 30 seconds once it was added (the agent would tell you that). You may need to close and reopen the app to see the points. After you see the points in the TF app, you may proceed to activate, either ask the agent or do it yourself in the app. (click on the inactivate device, then activate device. Select New or Keep Number. Enter ZIP code for new #. Skip payment since this comes with 1-year service. Follow the instructions.)
