a lot of the reviews comparing the HD 599 vs HD 560S say that technically the 560S sound better but have harsh sounding highs but compared overall the 599 has more relaxed & warmer sounding highs & mids.560S harsh highs revealing more detail in the music can't go wrong with either of them both great sounding for music.i really enjoy the sound of the 599 personally and from some one who has also owned the audio technica m50x the 599 are way better sounding headphones.

I've 599 and prefer my SHP9500 over them for music. So in similar price range I would personally suggest 9500s over 599. I haven't tried 560s so can't compare

560S is the better headphone with wider soundstage and overall a more refined sound, with very close to neutral sound signature just slightly bright-leaning. 599 is warmer with more/muddier bass, as well as more of the Sennheiser "veil" that people talk about due to rolled off treble. Both have very natural timbre and mids.

My vote is the 560S, but the 599 will probably be easier on the ears to a lot of people.

The 560s is better than any other 5xx series headphone. I personally prefer it even over some of the 6xx series phones from Senn but I would say its weakest point is the lower end and u may prefer the 58x for that, otherwise i wouldnt even consider the other ones unless its an issue of price.
