We're all still trying to get past this thing. Whatcha all been up to, besides trying to find deals to fight these ever rising prices??. Its shocking! Everyweek at grocery store prices go up and up. Thanks to all the good people here we can save some $$.

I'm going to be tacky and change the subject to the most shallow of shallow things: Hair Coloring. My hair is medium to dark brown (and has been colored with a wide assortment of drugstore hair dye). Can I use a Swarzkopf blond (says it lifts color 6 shades or something) for chunky highlights? I'm not picky about the results. And if it is too crazy, can I then use another brown over it? Will the highlights still show a bit, since I will have "lifted" the color in those areas?
I will tell you, a few months back the pharmacists were told all the tracking of prescriptions was being done by the system. Prior to that, I would get a small card stamped for each prescription I picked up. When he told me he wasn't stamping my card anymore because of that, I started keeping my receipts waiting to find how to see this online tracking. When I picked up a third prescription without getting my card stamped and I still couldn't find this online tracking, I had all my receipts with my prescriptions and asked again. Our pharmacist sheepishly apologized to me and said their online tracking wasn't working yet, so he gave me the 20% coupon you get when you've filled five prescriptions (after the initial $75 total). So you're probably also missing some 20% off coupons as well, expecting Von's has that program as well.
Their customer service is among the best I've ever dealt with. The Randalls store I shop knows I'll call corporate if they don't make things right, which pretty much means they ALWAYS make things right for me.
If the dye you currently have has a powder packet with basically powdered bleach, then I would expect you will get good lift with that dye. If what you have is just the color, developer and conditioner then I'd think if you get any lift at all you will likely have a fair amount of orange left. If that happens, you can try recoloring and that should work.
I have been on different chemos for the last few years getting my Crohns disease under control. The drug before the current one I am on now did a number on my hair. I lost a lot. I took a break from any sort of bleaching and only used color depositing shampoos for a long time. Its been nearly three years now so last year I felt safe to start bleaching again since my hair seemed more or less back to normal. This last time I bleached I used a toner (no drugstore options for me, I went with Wella off of Amazon for the cheapest option). That got my bleached hair to basically white, there was very little color at all which is what I was going for. Then I layered pinks, blues and purples over the white hair. I took two weeks off between bleaching and toning and then another week to do the colors. This is all in case you want to do wild colors OR find you have too much orange after the bleaching, then you can try toning. Read up about it, there are plenty of you tubes too.

I have some of those FREE Jif coupons from the recall. I believe they are up to $11.50 off one Jif and I think I have 6. The best deal I see for spending them are the 4 pound cans from Walmart. First, does anyone have a better deal? And second, how well do *cans* of PB keep? I've only ever bought jars...do the cans seal as well?

I was also thinking that steroids were things like prednisone and prednisolone, but there must me many more.
Dollar General has a lot of Christmas things for 10 cents each. Not stuff I wanted like cardboard boxes and tissue paper, but lots of little things. Felt ornaments, Elf on the Shelf candy. I think some other people were buying these small tins and they were 10 cents, as well as some fairly big branches for decorating.
Then went to ShopRite. They were giving out the packs of Hanes masks for FREE. My son actually wears those exact ones, so I was greedy and took ten packs. They had tons of 70% off prepared food too. I got pot pies, eggplant parm, chicken teriaki, chicken Francais, mushroom ravioli. Yum yum yum!
