Same. Got it last night from Best Buy and now seeing this. Only Best Buy has a 5 year warranty that covers burn in with no hoops to jump through tho so I'm not even mad. Plus i have it on 24 month financing so for $50/mo I can not obsess about avoiding burn-in beyond the normal care precautions. Still submitting a price match request!
Exactly why I bought it from best buy (geek squad warranty) Can confirm, they'll price match through chat. Had to get two agents, the first one couldn't see it being sold by Amazon

Bought it a month ago at $998 with 10% cash back. Guess I'm going to argue with Amazon support for my $100 or return and re-purchase. (Jan 31 return date)
Return and repurchase is going to be your only real bet. Just buy it first and return it when the new one comes.

Reason why this is cheaper than the upcoming costco deal is because there's no protection plan included. I believe costco will have this on sale for $980 but includes a 5year protection plan.

True but the Costco plan doesn't cover burn in. Neither does Amazon. Best bet is to get best buy to price match and buy their warranty

Have been eyeing this for a while. This may get me to pull the trigger with the additional 10% cash back with prime credit card. Can we tell if this one is using the new evo panel or the old one? I heard it's like a lottery.

Yup.. so many down votes just over a month ago when I said OLED coming down and fast.

LG monopoly is over. In fact, they have soured me, and will try not to support them. C1 was my first high end TV and now it's actually my least favorite with 2 more flagships in the house.

This TV should be 6-700 but that might take longer to drop, 4-6 months.

LG can join Nvidia in their wake up call.
I'm going to get this at $600. I got a 48" for like 700 and it was a steal

Its great as a gaming monitor but text can appear blurry, so not best as a productivity monitor. Lot of YouTube reviews if you want to check those.
I will be using it as work monitor and I am also worried about the lack of curve with this size.

Which OLEDs do you have that you like more? LGs remain the best option for gaming as far as I know.

LG makes premium products, priced for demand. OLED production is up and demand is down, so they lower prices. There is nothing nefarious about healthy profit margin for premium products.

Is the C2 42 the best tv for gaming? Need something setup in a bedroom with 7.5" viewing distance?

Got this awhile back from target for around $930 before tax after stacking a bunch of coupons. It's a great monitor but the only thing that annoys me is it doesn't go to sleep with the computer. There's a third party program to "fix" this but it doesn't work for me since my computer is connected via LAN and the monitor is via WiFi so there is an issue with them not being able to talk due to being on different subnet.

For the money it's a very competitive offering. But the sweet spot 4k viewing distance on a 42in TV is somewhere around 3 feet. You'd need at least a 60" to appreciate the resolution at 7.5 feet according to Panasonic.
https://www.panasonic.com/uk/cons...05%20feet.

Other similar LG models are the B2 (cheaper/slightly dimmer) and the G2 (more expensive/slightly brighter). Only the C2 has a 42in size. Mini LED TVs from Samsung like the QN90B are also very popular here, and considered better for bright rooms. Also worth mentioning is that the very high end Samsung features like mega bright panels are now reserved for 8k TVs.
