DO NOT BUY THIS garbage or anything from this crap brand. The 3 shelf bookcase came with popcorn and white stuff all over each piece which I cleaned and then inspected. 2 shelfs had scratches on top viewable side. One of the frame pieces was knicked and cracked in the corner. I ignored all the damage on non visible sides when assembled but there was a lot. I thought well it's $20 so kept going. When I went to fix/twist cam locks, they literally broke and bent out of position as I tightened them. 5/6 bent or broke. They look metal but are coated plastic or something. So I returned it. This was the worst furniture item I've ever bought. I'd say it's at high risk of spontaneous combustion if you manage to assemble it and use. Spend $5 more and get this if really strapped for cash. Otherwise get a real bookcase, not toys

I've had the opposite experience, no issues during setting it up. This is not an expensive solid wood bookcase so you'll have to keep that in mind during assembly.

If the book shelves are anything like Room Essentials from Target, that's good enough for me. I have two of the basic ones holding up well for over 3 years.

$20 not bad for the shelf.
