I've owned these for about 2 years now. Here's my opinion…
FYI I paid $249.99 for the set of 2 (pre pandemic prices).
After about 2 months of use, the plates constantly started to stick to one another and the screws on the bottom keep falling out. I'm very careful and never careless with them. So I figured they'd last forever. In addition, after about 8 months of use, the plates started cracking and no I don't toss them or slam them.
I still use them but they are a pain since the plates stick so much, so I now really only use them as 50lbs to prevent stress during my workout.
All in all, if you're wondering if $100 is good for a single, sure why not. But in my opinion it's not a steal since pre Covid I paid $125 regular price each. During Covid these sold out and when they came back, Walmart marked them up to $249 each which is insane! But as I said, $100 for an adjustable 50lb is not bad at all, just know what you're getting into with these.

Hope this helps someone out!
I went with the fitrx, those have 2.5 increments these are just 5 increments. Hitting niche in-between weights helps with progressive overload immensely for smaller muscle groups aka 7.5, 12.5, 17.5, 22.5 etc are all skipped on the Fuel.l dumbbells as compared to fitrx. You can do a smooth progression per workout instead of a jump. For example, dumbbell lateral raises hit your delts and they're not particularly strong. People are commonly stuck on 10s as 15s are the next weight up for them but that's a 50% increase which is notable and don't let you get ideal rep ranges jumping straight from 10 to 15

Reviews are good but some have notes of breaking, I see these on alot of budget adjustable dumbbells though so a bit of a gamble there.

Is it even possible to find a good pair of adjustable dumbbells that go up to 50lbs each for less than $200?

I've been using the Nordictrack one for years now. It does the job. I think i got it on sale for maybe $130-$140 after tax. This one with the employee discount gets it down $98 after tax free ship.

Same one's but were rebranded at Academy Sports for the same price if you're buying a pair. Mixed reviews, I looked at these at Academy, and kinda flimsy feeling. Think I'd definitely think the $349 BowFlex set will be a much better product and worth the extra since they are on sale too.

Commenting only on the concept that the FitRX are the same width no matter the weight while these are narrow at small weights and expand as weight is added. That aspect I like a lot more.

Just FYI, they have add on weights in small increments if you want to get a different dumbbell that might not have the exact increments you are looking for for some of those exercises where the jumps in weight are to much. An example of what I'm referring to would be the Rogue Add-On Change Plates.

My NordicTrack dumbbells rolled off my bench and exploded. Only 90 day warranty so i would NOT recommend them. Plus they feel extremely cheap

This is exactly the reason I went with Fitrx as well. I just got mine in the mail a couple days ago. I really like the 12.5 and 17.5 options on it. Yes, fitrx is definitely bulky which has made me decide to keep the pairs I already have, which are the standard ones up to 35.

Very interesting price point. Would anyone recommend these vs the price premium for the bowflex 552 on sale for $350?

Is there a vinyl material on the plates? Can't tell.
