That's absolutely false. I have dreamless qlc drive as game drive for years and they are usually around 80 percent capacity. They don't perform like HDD.....

WAT. I was trying to get over the myth that these QLC drives magically run at half speed after they are 50% full. I was trying to describe where the myth came from (the low capacity drives).

For Pete's sake THE 2TB SOLIDIGM DRIVE FOR $110 IS A GOOD DEAL.

You would have to write 400 gig to it an hour before it goes into 10x slow mode Stick Out Tongue

Ordered this backordered 2TB NVMe m.2 off Newegg a couple of days ago. Shipped today already. I'll test it on my PS5. I'll report back with my findings. 3k read and 2k write is PLENTY fast for games. I HIGHLY doubt these consoles can take advantage of that.

Placed pre/back-order on 11/14, got a tracking number yesterday 11/15; just fyi the original ETA date was 11/18. And wasn't charged until it shipped, even though I checked out with Apple Pay.

cuz that's not the reason, it's only if you exceed write cache - and that recovers, if you space out sustained writes... also few folks will have a faster device to write from...
