Just looking at the components this is cheaper than if you built it yourself with the parts.

If it's crashing there must be some default settings that needs adjustment: Memory timings, most likely. Or the memory might not be seated correctly, or the assembly process left out thermal paste on the processor. Lots of things that could get screwed up.

Given the price it still might be worth pulling the trigger and approaching it like a new build, pulling it apart and reassembling it to make sure it's all correct?

*EDIT* Nevermind- looks like Asus cheaped out on the power supply. Replacing the power supply tacks on enough cost that this is no longer a Slickdeal. Sadface.
Looks like a solid deal until you read the reviews. Pass.
I rolled the dice on a crashing one last year for my son and sure enough we got one. Returned it and brought a basic hp gaming desktop that was more reliable

the Acer 12700/3060 laptop for 780 on ebay crushes this. wait for it to go lower.

why compare a laptop to a desktop; two separate product classes

also there's several laptops that would crush that acer

Adding price to your point doesn't strengthen it; if you were trying to get the cheapest possible laptop then theres several others that of course would compromise build quality or gpu

That said an intel and nvidia in an acre nitro is good value but to compare to a desktop is poor practice when its two different use cases

Perhaps one would want to play 1440p or 4k and on a laptop you are stuck at 1080p; the ram would suffer from it not having it be upgradable since only 1 dimm slot is accessible easily

The wattage on the rtx3060 on laptop is only 95w but on a desktop you can get double at least which will give more FPS at lower 1% frames

Since it has intel it will cook the cooling system before the gpu can even get any performance close to a 3060

At $759, I would consider this a pretty decent deal for someone who's a newcomer to PC gaming.

So if I have an 850W psu sitting around, is this a good grab?

Curious on this also. Seems most, but not all, reviews say the PSU is the problem. Price wise, still seems like a good deal even if I have to replace the PSU.

Just not sure if that would resolve the crash issues.

I feel like it must right? Other than that, idk why a pc would just crash unless the ram is bad or something?

PC noob, so been spending hours on reddit the last few weeks researching parts to build a PC right around this price point. This would save me a lot of trouble since it uses a lot of the parts I was looking at anyways.

I agree the reviews are worrying, but would still be interested in taking a shot if any experts out there have more to chime in on addressing the crashes.

Would it be worth trying this and maybe upgrading the GPU?

The main problem of this pc is the case. There are plenty of videos on Youtube complaining of high temps. Also the components are lower end.

Reviews on NewEgg reports a lot of crashes. Darn, seemed like a good deal.
Bought a similar machine from Walmart and it crashed until I replaced the CMOS battery. Good as new for the last 6-7 months. This is a good deal I think.

Same Question for me. I have a 750W PSU from the computer I built that I could use to replace this one if that works.

cooler master gold v2 is going for $60 with rebate but rebate valid for today purchase only

the crashes can be more of the gpu not getting enough wattage since a rtx 3060 is drawing around 200w or could be the cpu needs to be undervolted if it's overclocked from factory
I have a feeling the cooler used does not match the picture for the cpu. And the 5800x runs quite hot so if they have strapped some cheapo down firing air small air cooler on their and not the tower one like pictured that could be part of the issue. But the cpu would defintely not be overclocked by default. using pbo tuner with a negative offset may help it some what if cpu temps are the route cause
