They are parallels. T is for thin and light, P is for power (at the expense of bulk).
With Lenovo you always need to find the right coupon. A lot of coupon isn't listed on their website and it is best to wait for people to post them. Can't directly compare bad coupon pricing vs good coupon pricing.
I agree with your main point though. Unless you're using it for CAD buy something with a Geforce card.
For hardcore CAD and rendering, a moderately configured desktop does the job way better than this ever could. And for portable use, your typical ultrabook runs cooler, its battery lasts longer, and is easier to carry around. And it probably still has enough power to do most CAD work. Many of these programs were developed decades ago and don't utilize modern hardware very well anyway.
If drafting and rendering is your full time job, get a good desktop. If you want a good portable device, get an ultrabook. If you want the worst of both worlds, get this thing 😂
