So, CR rated the Shark S7001 as one of their top picks for "Steam Mops." #1 was a $150 Bissell PowerFresh (79), #2 was also a Bissell PowerFresh at $150 (78), and in third place at a similar score of 78, was the Shark S7001 (at a tested price of $160). Now, this is a Shark S7000. Believe it or not, there's actually a website that explains the differences [vacuumcleanerreviewszone.com] between the S7000 and S7001 model. If you want to TLDR the website - basically the S7001 has LED headlights and comes with some extra pads that the S7000 does not have, but otherwise appears essentially the same one CR Recommended at a score of 78... one point less than their #1 rated model.

The above said, the lowest I found this selling new was on eBay for $120, but at Walmart, Amazon, and Best Buy, looks like the lowest prices are in the $130's for the S7000 new. So, at $60, this seems like a good deal to me.

The Shark® Steam & Scrub scrubbing and sanitizing* steam mop gently scrubs and sanitizes* all at once. The combination of powerful steam and rotating pads delivers up to 2x better stuck-on stain removal vs. traditional steam mops** on sealed hard floors.
This deeper cleaning removes layers of dust, residue, grease, and bacteria while providing chemical-free sanitization*.
  • Powerful steam and rotating pads result in a deeper cleaning.
  • Up to 2x better stain removal vs. traditional steam mops**.
  • Chemical-free sanitization* that removes 99.9% of bacteria.
  • Designed for all sealed hard floors: hardwood, marble, tile, stone.
  • 3 steam modes for personalized cleaning: Light, Normal, and Deep.
  • Swivel steering, upright lock, and 22-ft. power cord.
  • **Based on IEC IEC/TC SC 59F (Mustard), tested against S1000.
  • Dimensions (Overall): 46.5 Inches (H) x 6.75 Inches (W) x 13.7 Inches (D)
  • Weight: 7.8 Pounds
  • User Manual [cloudfront.net]
* NOTE --- I used the pics from the Woot website, however I noticed the model in the Wood picture has LED headlights, which the S7000 does NOT have, so I believe Woot incorrectly pictured the S7001 model, which looks essentially the same, except for the standard color and the LED headlights.

Thanks for the posting and detailed thoughts/links/information. Went ahead and picked this up for a family member as a gift.

I can't comment on the refurbished, but I just caught one on sale for 119. It's pretty bad ass. If quality is good on refurb, this is a steal

Also want to know if Lvp will tolerate this machine. "Sealed" like how sealed. Channel lock enough?

My apartment has cheapo vinyl. I don't know what it is but it's soft, like I can dent it with my finger nail. It gets filthy.. would this work or be safe?

Bought the newer version of this and a Bissell the same week and returned the Shark, the Bissell was much better and picked up way more dirt. The whole spinning thing seems like it would work better but it doesn't.

From what I know/have researched, steam should never be used on LVP or LVT no matter the setting
