That takes a lot more work and planning... and has limits.

This is 2% back on everything with no limit and without thinking or having to manage multiple cards and categories and month of the year, etc, etc.....

Knowing which of like 3 total cards to use in person for which thing is "a lot more work and planning" to get 2.5x (or 5-10x if you travel) the rewards value?

Yes. Double Cash is just one card. No thinking needed.

I don't think someone using a 2% cash back card for everything and paying all their credit card balances off every month would be poor.... but of course you are entitled to your own opinion. Big Grin

Well, they'd be more poor than someone earning 5% (or effectively 10-30% for travelers) on a lot of that spend and also paying the balance off each month....because that's how math works Smilie

If I take advantage of the 0% and wait till the end to pay off the entire balance do I get the 1% on everything? Or is the 1% tied to some sort of time constraint? Borrowing money at 0% while I'm getting 5%+ buying CDs/t-bills is pretty sweet but I wouldn't want to miss out on the 1% cashback....

This might be a stupid question but I'll ask anyways. You still get 2% even if you pay it off immediately?
Yes,1% when you purchase and 1% when you pay.

it's a great card but pretty stingy starting credit limit when compared to Discover or even a small local credit union card.

I used to use this card for everything, then I found out about BoA travel reward. If you maintain 100K asset with them - ie your roth IRA account, they give you 2.625% cash back with the credit card.

I have had terrible luck with disputes and this card. One company did a bait and switch on me and I lost $250. Haven't used it ever since.

I used to love this flat 2% on everything until I found out they took our basically all the extra protections on the card for travel, theft, all the other coverage so I haven't used it for years. You can get cash back on other cards that have better protection.

Min monthly payment is still required! 0% interest free only delays the interest (still accrued daily). If you pay off the ENTIRE account balance by the end of the promotional period, all interest will be waived. However, min monthly payment is still REQUIRED!

I've had a few disputes a few months back (email got hacked) totaling over $500. They dragged their feet and I had to make multiple calls, but it did get removed. The roughest part is the communication with them as you can't get a clear answer and all they want to do is assure you it'll be fine and get off the line.
