Probably a dumb question but couldn't you take the money out and put it in a CD for 18 months and then pay the money back?

That's not a balance transfer... so I'm guessing not... and there is a 3% fee anyway... and then you have to pay taxes on the interest you earn... and go through hassle and risk of some issue occurring... so even if you could, it's not worth it in my opinion.

YMMV. 3 Years in a row had this card reported for fraud charges without even using it much. I used it for few purchases in 3 years total and even when I have not used it, somehow they managed to steal CC information. I am completely baffled by the fact that my new card that was sent in early Sept got stolen within 20 days even though I had "Locked" activated with no usage. I have many other cards but this is the only card that seems to be having issue with fraudulent activities. Reported for the 3rd time this year with new card being sent.

Weird... had this card for years and no fraud issues that I can recall. A place you are using it at could be leaking your CC info.

Yep. All charges were different recurring subscriptions payment. It was annoying as hell!

What about a new card that I just received in 20 days with zero usage and locked activated? Citi is investigating and I hope they find the culprit.

Not that great. Wells Fargo has a great intro offer ($200 after spending $500 in 3 months?) and I believe they offer 2% back on everything. I also have a PayPal credit card thst offers 3% on PayPal purchases and 2% on all else. I really wanted the 5% custom cash card from citi, just use it as a gas card, but they denied me - credit history too short. Nothing else from citi seems that great.

Based on Reddit reading... Double Cash does not give full 2% if you withdraw points for statement credit: they are deducted from the second - payment based 1%.

I assume the same is true for the first 1%, which is why they harass me at cash register to use points instead of making the full payment.

Your could overcome that by having a check mailed to you, but now you'd have to deposit it before it gets lost...

Also, WF card forces you to withdraw points on multiplies of $25.

There was a This American Life episode about this. Basically someone close to you is stealing your information, a family member, boyfriend/girlfriend, neighbor.

1. I believe there is some truth to this because you only get 1% back on what you send in to pay off the credit card, so if you get a statement credit, that won't count toward 1% back on payments. Example: If you then owe $900 to the credit card instead of $1000 (because of a $100 statement credit), then you'll only get 1% back on the $900 you send in instead of $1000... so you miss out a little (you miss the 1% cashback on the $100 statement credit). Not sure what you mean by affecting the first 1%... I don't see how that would be affected.

2. You don't need to get a paper check, you can have the cash electronically deposited into a bank account.

Charges are coming up in Kentucky and no close relative or family member has access. I think someone is accessing the card before I even receive it or activate it. Let's see what comes about this new card and I will keep it locked and not use it to test it out.

I'm deciding between this card and the Wells Fargo 2% cashback. Does this card still offer extended warranty?
