Got one of these for like $5 at a goodwill in new condition. Used it once. Popcorn had no flavor. Tasted like air. Re-donated it.

I dont have this popper, but i have a similar air popper. As far as i know, air poppers are so you can add butter and salt to your liking vs cooking in it or oil. Some people like popcorn not loaded with stuff. We would pop into a big bowl (because they do tend to fire in random way sometimes and a bigger bowl would catch the strays) . But i dip a fork into melted butter, use it to drip randomly over popcorn, stir, add my salt and yum.

I should add, there is also a big difference in the popcorn you use.
