ABSOLUTE F*ING life changer!!! I LOVE my S7 MaxV Ultra. We have mostly hard floor with some sections of area rugs and it's amazing how this thing can manage to clean up everything. We have 3 cats, a bird, and a dog and I truly regret not getting this sooner. Now I only wish some of the refills go on sale as I am soon up for some replacements. The obstacle avoidance is impressive, and we also enjoy using it as a spy cam to watch our kitties when we're away. It's kinda hypnotic to just look at the camera stream when it's cleaning. The one thing I will mention though is that the dirty water tank does smell rank when you open it, so if you are disgusted by the thought of practically sewage sitting in that dock, you might want to clean the tank more often that when it's full.

Your comment is not helpful. What do you expect? Most of the products are made in China anyway.

And it's a vacuum, you worry on Chinese people knowing the map and layout of your house and how frequent you use the vacuum? Same thing will happen if this products is made in the US, US companies will also track the same data.

IMHO, i think this is not the best deal given it's call the Black Friday deals.

The discounted pricing is basically the same as past deals we have seen here. It's a shame, i was waiting to see the S7 MaxV Ultra, but it's still very pricey.

I don't need to mentally justify anything. Which of the cons I listed above are false? I used m6 for awhile and it absolutely does not do a better job at mopping. The mopping is so slow you would be better off to just take swifter pad and do it yourself. Roll that $300 into a top of line robot vacuum with self cleaning and empty and yes the price of Ultra is fair when it's on sale.
Lol at security concern. I don't care someone knows my floor layout or pictures of furnitures. Let me know how we can monetize that info.
Floor layout/pictures of furniture? Now I'm questioning whether you actually own this. It's a full a/v stream, think webcam on wheels.

does this send data to the interweb from a camera without you requesting it?

The question isn't does it, it's "can it" - and the answer is yes. Besides having it segmented off into its own vlan, I also closely monitor any network traffic of size coming out of it. I established a baseline during active video calling for reference, but audio streams can be tougher to detect.

What's to stop them from recording audio or video at any time?

After a couple of months of use i like the Ultra and I think it is hard to beat. Sometimes in the corners with small particles has issues, but it is common in most. Mopping is better than previous generations too but you have to remember to drain the dirt tank of water so it doesn't smell too bad when you are doing that. I like this video about it in YouTube, but it is in Spanish https://youtu.be/nqTDmwsb-9w

Anyone know if the robotics s7 ultra is better or the Narwal Freo? Both self cleaning and mops and vacuums. The price is only$50 different
Of the 4 main flagship Robo Vacuums / Mop combos...I've been doing a ridiculous amount of research for the past few months and this is how they'd stack up. Note that I'm mostly listing the unique cons and positives of each.

1. Dreame L10S Ultra - The best overall right now. The only reported problem with it requires a bit of a one time manual fix to ensure the clean water gets to the mops. Other downside is proprietary cleaning solution that you'll need to keep buying for the mop - but some view this is a positive so you don't have cleaning solution sitting in the clean water tank. Other complaints are that it's only offered in white so it looks stained/dirty after a few runs.

2. Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra - Main problems with this unit are (1) it does not have a built in mop dryer, so most folks report the dock station getting smelly (and unhygienic), BUT you can buy an add-on one for another $80. I imagine the next model will definitely have this built in. (2) The mopping mechanism is very effective, but the engineering of it is such that it will fail much earlier in it's lifecycle than the mop types that you see in the Dreame or X1 below. I don't like the idea of having to replace the $1k+ robot in 2 years. That's mostly "engineer" design opinions though, because it hasn't been out long enough for real world reports on whether or not it holds up over time.

3. Deebot Omni X1 - Terrible app, bad reputation for the company. Ridiculous that you have to manually remove or put on the mops since it doesn't lift on its own for carpets. Doesn't clean nearly as well as those listed above in direct comparison tests. I do think it's one of the better looking units though and was the first to heat dry mops.

4. Narwal Freo - Newest release so less info out there, but a lot of reviewers said it leaves something to be desired in terms of ability to actually clean, which is really the most important thing here. The Pa of suction is also notably much worse than the others. The deal breaker for this one is that it doesn't automatically empty it's vacuum cleaning bin, it only does the dirty water automatically.

This is all based on my personal opinions from fanatical research going through countless product reviews, consumer complaints on Reddit, and direct comparison tests on YouTube. As well as specs/functionality that I think is important. I really think you can't go wrong with either of the top 2 if you're aware of the shortcomings. Most people that have these are extremely happy with their purchase.

What am I doing? I'm actually waiting for the Dreame X10 Ultra that will come out in 2023. Has automated mop removal functionality that I think is a game changer and it's gray. Fingers crossed it will allow you to use whatever cleaning solution you want in the tank too. There's some reviews already out there from conventions where they demonstrated it.

I hate being impatient as I am though lol...

This guy… lol. I've been researching ALL the last few weeks. I've been out of the robot game since early 2019 when I paid almost $1k for the first self emptying bin. Even then the "mop" was something that dragged dirty water around it seemed…

I appreciate your feedback as there seems to be areas of improvement in each. I picked up the x1 Omni from Best Buy yesterday. This thing looked bad ass and my wife said she doesn't mind it being in the living room as it's not "industrial" however the mopping on it seems to absolutely suck. I have all hardwood floors with a few high pile carpets. It will avoid those like the plague.

Another note on the x1 is I have very small transition strips from room to room (hardwood) no bigger then 2mm thick or so. The x1 tends to get stuck on these & struggles to go over them each time which I found surprising.

The deebots/s7 video/roaming feature is interesting for me as I have many home security concerns and large dogs. However the ecovacs app roaming is a joke. It's clunky, the video is grainy and it's almost unusable.

I ordered the S7MaxV Ultra from Amazon, while the robot seems great the dock is my concern, the reviews I on YouTube did question is long term usability due to the many moving parts. We'll see how it goes, but I was toying with the idea of getting just the S7MaxV alone on this sale and waiting for a next gen dock but who knows how long that will take.

The dreame looks good, but the only retailer I can find with a BF sale is Amazon and it's currently at 1100 on sale, which seems a tad high compared to the others. I can't find very much info on it, but I'd like to get feedback on the app also.

The only robots I've used are ECOVACS & IRobot so I'm open for anything.

I was planning to buy the S7. Is it better to buy it from buydig.com considering its same price and has 2yr extended warranty? Thoughts please..

You can get the L10s directly from Dreametech on eBay. These are new units and as of yesterday I was able to buy one for $900 through the make an offer feature.

Also, while I think the automatic solution mixing is a feature that's a plus, you don't have use it. You can mix your cleaner if needed. As for color, I've found the opposite. White doesn't show dust like the gloss black machines. With my old Roborock, I needed to wipe it down after each cleaning. The white can go a week without wiping down.

The government can request webcam footage without your approval, are you concerned with that?

What is to stop Xiaomi? How about selling 15,000,000+ expensive vaccums each year? I don't have a problem with Xiaomi or other Chinese companies, even if my government did. They make cool products. What is so exciting about my life, anyway? If they manage to get nude pictures of me, the joke is on them.

There's no better separate mop robot with self wash or self empty vacuum than the S7 Max Ultra. Roomba m6 is pure garbage compared to this, and iRobot's AI is a disaster.

S7 Max Ultra is top of the line, best of the best, and in my book tech product of the year 2022. Don't knock it until you try it.
it's all about price VS value. this category of swiss knife is new, and therefor you are paying the premium price for the novelty and taking the risk, because many iterations of improvement are ahead in the future. just like the regular robo vac had several improvements over the year to finally arrive at a point where they can be had for < $200 with all the bells and whistles.

the point is very simple. the best time to get an electric car is not when only Tesla is making them, but when everyone is making them (significant technology improvement, much lower risk, and better price due to competition). that is unless you like novelty and risks . . .

A vacuum is not a car so the value vs price proposition can't really be compared.

With a car, it's point it to get one from point A to point B. One can buy any type of engine or motor to accomplish that.

What's the alternative to a robot vacuum? Doing it oneself? A cleaning service? Both alternatives are much more expensive for a lot of people. They're at a point now that saves people time and, at least indirectly, money.

https://youtu.be/Nt1KwfEPoEI for your question posed.

While it definitely slows things down, the fact that the Dreame goes back to the dock to clean the mop heads and refill the bots water bin periodically means you'll end up with less dirty water dragging.

Which separate vac is better than S7 MaxV Ultra for just vacuuming and no mop?
without knowing your requirements and budget, it's hard to say what will work for you. my recommendation would be to search SD, many great options are posted at prices that are very reasonable.

for example, my space is very simple and relatively clean, I do not need the wifi, apps, map, self-empty . . . so I can get a < $100 vac and it will do a great job. if I had pets, sensitive furniture, exclusion zones, tall carpet . . . i would look at vacuums that can to that job.

so the answer is simple, the best vacuum is the one that cost the lowest and yet gets the job done . . . . everything on top of that is not a "need" it's a "want".

I have the ihome Nova. It's ok. Doesn't clean all that well and I absolutely hate the stupid app. The maps are garbage since the robot would ignore the keep out zones and still goes in them and they get stuck on cables left and right. I would also occasionally get glitchy maps in the app where there are two maps rotated and stacked on top of one another. I think every week it will get stuck somewhere at least once and I'll have to fetch it. Also the mop feature is pretty much useless if you have both hardwood and carpet.
My Nova had issues when I left on the mopping attachment about returning to the base properly. The second I removed that its been flawless now for almost a whole year so I dont have any of your issues, my no go zones work perfectly fine and are not encroached. Pretty much identical experience to the vacuum wars review on it which said it was a TOP vac against anything in the $500 range.

In my post I am referring to the newer better version of the Nova... The Ihome Nova Pro currently on sale at walmart for $285 which is normally around $400 is a complete improvement on the Nova and even upgraded the mopping to agitation. Suction improved to 2700 from 2100 too, still has LIDAR. Has the hard plastic base and self empty base which means you can set it down on carpet, all that for $285 and thats not counting the rebate site which lowers the price even more.

If they fixed the mopping experience issues I experienced its the best deal in smart home vacs.
