Just bought a set of 4 of the newer stock and found this to be a pretty good deal for those of you that do above average driving every year that can wear out the tire before 2024 ends, they are highly reviewed and I love them living in Arizona. Obviously not snow tires.

it's not a common recommendation but I personally think you should get the michelin pilot sport 4s. they last pretty long and you need the grip for your EV. the tire is excellent in the rain so it suits everything except for snowy conditions. you can go to costco and see if they can order it.

The sports are very grippy esp for all seasons but they will take a sizable bite out of EV range, esp for the compliance EVs that Cali is so famous for.

I have the Niro EV and can attest rhat they chew through tires due to all the torque, esp in FWD form. Despite the short (under 28k) use I've gotten out of the primacy MXV4 that the car came with, I went back to them because I really enjoy the quiet ride. They're really pricey new so I get used ones... And there are many used ones out there!

But yes, they do slip quite a bit if you floor it. The Niro actually takes the exact size tire of this deal, so debating it now. I am not a canyon carver and I do not enjoy changing out pricey tires every 2 yrs or less...

I'd actually recommend the goodyeara being sold at walmart now for BF (the outlasts, not the reliants). Long tread life is good for casual rides, and they are seriously cheap.

Be wary of the 2019 production date. I have bought a set of max performance tires on sale from Tire Rack before and all of them cracked after a couple of years because they were several years old already when they sold it to me. I was able to get warranty to get a prorated credit towards another set of tires but it was still a burdensome experience, let alone dangerous to have multiple tires cracked on the sidewalls. I'm in Southern California with temperate weather but that still happened. Haven't bought from Tire Rack since. Costco has a nice enough selection of performance tires to meet my needs for a better price than Tire Rack.

Those don't last long at all, 20-30k tops. If you're just commuting get the Pilot AS 3 or AS 4 (all-season), like 70% of the grip but 2x the tire life.

Excellent summer tire. I've gone around 100mph in the rain (to test with no one around) and they do great. For this size, it's a good deal (usually it's $20 more per tire for this size). Please be aware this size is for a 17" wheel.

I do see the point about EV/hybrid mpg loss from performance tires. It's a tough call to make, but to me, in a dangerous situation on the road, I want all the grip I can get. I'll take the lost MPG in order to have safer acceleration, braking, and turning ability. It depends on how you see it. If you are smart about it, you can document your tire rotations on your tire, and if you're wearing it down way before the warranty mileage, you can get a good discount on your next set.

I second the Michelin AS3/4. Excellent tire life, still really good traction especially on wet roads. Mine are just getting to 5 years and still have 6/32-7/32 of tread, but they're starting to slip a lot because the rubber is hardening. To be expected with age, but oh well. Only put 7k miles on that car in 2 1/2 years so the mileage isn't adding up the way I expected over the time.

On my third set of Michelin pilot super sports, they're fantastic and worth every penny

Goodyear makes the super sport. Michelin makes the pilot sport.
