You'll get charged the full price + taxes when making the order with a trade-in online. When you go in-store to pick up the new phone and trade in your old phone, they'll refund you the difference and with that, your taxes will also be adjusted according to the final price.

Source: I traded in my Pixel 6 for a Pixel 7 a month ago at Best Buy.

Not true. Just added an XR fully functional with no screen cracks and was given $460 credit. Did have to pay sales tax on full $499 unfortunately when I checked out so will end up being around $62 with tax after trade-in, but besides that worked great as OP suggested. Picking up from best buy tomorrow, will follow-up if there are any issues.

I have a iPhone 7 Plus I'd like to trade-in at the Google store but I don't see that device included in the Trade-In option. If I choose iPhone 7 and send the 7Plus, will that be problem? Thanks.

I can buy an XR on Straight Talk for 100 + 35 for a sim card and a month of service, which could be resold easily.

Many people have reported that BB just checks the phone has been reset and in good condition. Just pick Verizon in the trade-in menu.
