Today I received it and traded it at BB for a Pixel 7.
The final price I paid was $42.22 ($39 + Tax $3.22). I'm set for my OCONUS trip together with my Samsung S22 Ultra which I love.
Things that a 2018 iPhone XR does better than a Pixel 7:
- 120fps and 240fps for slo mo recording @ 1080p vs max 60 fps on Pixel
- Cinematic mode (24fps) at 4k resolution and it's better quality than Pixel 7 only doing 24 fps at 1080p with worse quality (Both can do 4K @ 60 fps, I'm talking cinematic mode specifically here)
- FaceId was incredible on iPhone. Face unlock on Pix 7 doesn't work depending on lighting
- Flashlight toggle right on lockscreen on XR - best you can get on Pixel 7 is double tap back for flashlight (doesn't work half the time) or pull down lock screen to tap flashlight toggle.
Pixel cons: Fingerprint reader is not great, Charging rate
Pixel pros: Nice always-on OLED screen with ample brightness, Photo quality, Recorder transcription is impressive!
You would think that specs like 8 GB RAM vs 3 GB on the XR and a 2022 processor would make the Pixel more desirable for you, but I'm willing to bet you'd like the XR you have more than this. You should definitely play with the 7 at the Best Buy store display before thinking about doing the trade-in. That's my specific advice to you based on you already loving your XR - plus it will likely still get iOS 17 and possibly more.
The downside is that your XR will never be worth more in-trade than you can get in this promo right now.

OLED screen is just okay cuz it has same annoying rainbow colors at angle that my S7+ also has. Thebiggest color-related problem on the Pixel 7 is that it shows alternating pink and blue stripes as ... [dxomark.com]
It's related to the optical stack manufacturing and assembly they use on the OLED screen, guess they didn't cheap out with the Pixel 7 Pro cuz doesn't have this issue.
Anyways, I'd get a 2nd XR or just go check it out in store for yourself as previous poster said.

I got a refurb iphone 11 from staighttalk, and now I'm wondering whether to do the trande in for the pixel 7 pro. The phone seems to be in good condition. It should unlock after 2 months I think.
But I've never been on the Apple ecosystem, never used any apple device..
Getting the pixel 7 pro would cost anothe $225.
The extra 9 gigs of RAM and the extra 64GB of space is tempting.
I have an XS Max. Everthing works and the screen is fine, but the back glass is smashed
I did see few people claim their orders from 17th were shipped. Anyone else waiting?
