You'll get charged the full price + taxes when making the order with a trade-in online. When you go in-store to pick up the new phone and trade in your old phone, they'll refund you the difference and with that, your taxes will also be adjusted according to the final price.

Source: I traded in my Pixel 6 for a Pixel 7 a month ago at Best Buy.

This is like buying a new car with rebates. Seems like a good deal till you try to sell it. So many flippers have done this deal the phones are going for $300 or less on eBay and Mercari new 😂

He went through some settings on the iPhone 11. All the iPhone shows is that the phone SIM restriction. He must have seen a few others before me try to do the same thing, who knows?

Yup, the iPhone had no SIM card in it. He asked what carrier it was and I told him Verizon. He even went so far as to go through the initial setup over WiFi in the store.

Dang talk about a dedicated worker if they try that when I go I'd just ask for phone back takes at least 10min to skip all the Apple prompts to go thru all that trouble first time turning on phone out of the box!

Finally convinced my wife to trade her iphone 11.

Can i just walk in to best buy and do all the transaction in the store? (7/7pro is available). Do i need to pay the full price and wait for the refund if I do it in the store?
