maybe i am unlucky but want to share my experience here. the moral of the story is don't just trust what people said in this forum. wasted a trip and didn't get the discount as promised.
Personally, I'd call the store manager and explain that employees there were basically trying to scam you into buying something you don't need. And if he didn't help, get the number for the district manager. Low-level employees will often find shady ways to push extras so they get bonuses. But mangers at some point will usually step in and try to correct it because that kind of thing can lead to big class-action lawsuits for corporate misconduct if they let it go unchecked.

Locking state does not matter. I used Metro Iphone 11 as Tmobile phone in 3 different BestBuy. The store all applied coupons differently resulting it varied gift card amount after trade in, but not a single one denied it for being locked to Metro or not bein direct from Tmobile.
Is it not worth more than pixel 7 ?

Paypal was charged. ST CSR says no way to cancel. It's a bit crazy. Hope it ships this week.
Interestingly enough, the best buy order that was placed last week to be picked up today hasn't gotten fulfilled, even though the website shows there is inventory at the specific BestBuy store.
(edit: got an email from BB that the order is ready to be picked up. Pick-up date is extensible to 2 weeks from the original pick-up date... BUT still no words from StraightTalk when I called today)
StraightTalk is straight shit
EDIT: My order was placed on Nov 20th, so well over a week and still no shipping update / tracking number. Terrible customer service
My question is where the hell is the info for the $35-month plan? I thought someone said they could resell it. Was it supposed to be included with the phone or will that arrive separately or in an email? All i got was a small pamphlet with the IMEI and Sim ID on it?
It's been 9 days for me and it still says "pending remote fulfillment" on StraightTalk's website...
Chose unlocked pixel 7
Chose Verizon Apple XR trade in (straight talk refurb Apple xr as a Verizon phone).
Got refub XR in the mail and charged it up. Took out sim. Did not setup the phone in any way (left it at choose location)
Went to BB to pick up order.
Gave employee the XR and didn't offer any info beyond bare minimum questions they asked.
Got pixel 7 and full $460 credit.
