Amazon just delivered my XM4s. The sound quality is superb, but it feels like like the headphones are slowly squeezing my brain out of my skull. They are way too tight, even after I extended the headset all the way. I couldn't wear them for more than 10 minutes. It's been 30 minutes that I've removed them and I can still feel the pressure around my ears.

Most people with small or normal-sized heads will love the XM4s. But I have a big head there is no way that I will be able to use these for an extended period of time.

Any headphone recommendations for someone with a large head like me? Are the qc45s any better?

If you need noise cancelling, yes. But I bought a pair of Sennheiser 599 (not in the same group). I mainly listen at home, so no need for noise cancelling.

The difference between my XM3 and HD599 is night and day. You can use the 599 with an amp, unlike the XM3.. so the sound might be even better once I get my es100

If you search the model on Costco's website, you'll also see the product title is "Bose QuietComfort 45 SE…". They are the same just with the soft case as TikiTaka has said.

I got a big head or at least I think so. No normal size ball cap has ever fit me. Anyways, XM5 fits me fine
