Would that drain your car's battery?

I have no idea, just asking. I'm old enough to remember if you left the radio on your battery would be dead by morning then would need to push start it and pop the clutch.

1500w Inverter can't just plug into your car. It draws over 125amps at full power.

Would anyone use this for backup power to electronics?

Yes, it's pure sine, and can be used as an UPS.

If you're not running your car, your car's alternator is not generating power to charge the battery... so, yes.

dang, was hoping the discount would have been all on the solar panel instead of being split, makes sense though cause you could return it and keep the panel for free if they didnt do that

Is this good to power 2 fridges and a chest freezer during a power outage?

Do you have to connect the inverter directly to the battery?

Quote from nbn :
If that's your only use you could get a 1500W inverter for 1/3 the cost and plug it into your car.

1? yes... 2? maybe... 3? Probably not

Fridges tend to run 100-180W on average, depending on their age, so you may be able to run two (this is a 500W unit with a 1000W peak output)... but if their condensers happen to kick on & surge at the same time, this unit might shut itself off to prevent overload.

thanks! I was going to buy a river 2 and a 110W panel, but this is basically the same price as the cheapest river 2 over the past half month!

I chose the River Pro because of better electronics when camping and better output in case of emergencies. It was the only thing that made it stand out from the competition. I don't live in a van so lifepo4 will never matter, and agree that this model feels like a step backwards.
Can you explain this? I don't live in a van either so should I not look for lifepo4 ?

These are good if you live in a van down by the river.

LifePo4 is heavier, and less efficient than traditional lithium ion batteries. But can be charged 3000 times before they reach 80% capacity. The traditional lithium ion on the original River Pro can be charged 800 times before reaching 80% capacity.

Unless you need this on a daily basis such as a job site, the old lithium ions are a much better deal for the money. But even then, even on a daily basis, after 3 years you would be more concerned about the electronics wearing out before the batteries do.

Looks like it is extra 5% off the before discount price?

So before discount total for both item is $998. And additional 5% off is $49.9 off.

Then $180 off for the power station and $399 off (free) for the solar panel.

So not only you get $399 off for the solar panel but also additional 5% off the original solar panel price. Making the solar panel even more discount ($399+5%($19.95)=$418.95 off) so more discount than free(?)

Does either the power station or solar panel come with cable to connect the two? If not, what extra cable/connector need to buy and something with decent length over 6-10 ft so can put the panel outside while keep the power station inside?
