I bought this from Walmart a few weeks ago for $499, it replaced a 73" 1080p DLP Mitsubishi. No regrets, for the price, size, SmartTV integration, and image quality, been very happy.

Do you watch sports? If so, any good?

Yes, watching NFL on it is pretty awesome. I think it does a 60 fps upscale to its native 60hz refresh rate so sports and YouTube videos look super realistic on it. I turn off the upscale for movies because the higher fps looks unnatural with cinema.

Is this TV wall mountable, i don't see anything on the back that would indicate that it is.

Yes it has 300 x 300 VESA mounting points. I just "mounted" one on a tabletop VESA stand this week for my grandmother. (This way she didn't have to buy a new TV stand). Great price for the quality you are receiving.

This does a good job upscaling less than 4K content. It doesn't have Dolby Vision, native 120Hz or MicroLED's, but at this price point you don't expect that. It isn't super bright, so the HDR effect isn't that great, but it does work. The one I received had a couple of dead pixels that I had to "massage" back to life and it had very little dirty screen effect. Really only visible on a torture test.

Overall, for this price you really can't complain. You get a very good, very large picture at a very low cost. Along with the built in Roku, this is a great deal.

How did you test for dead pixels and did the torture test? Last time i bought a tv was over a decade ago so this was my first entry into a 75'' tv arena and i was not expecting top of the line performance but watched the game last night and switched settings to "sport" really improved the picture (colors) that i have no complaints or regrets on buying this tv.

On YouTube I searched for DSE Test and there is a video that has a virtual hockey player moving back and forth on different shades of a white background. Looking for dead pixels, I just found an RGB test on YouTube and paused it for each color on the screen and then got up close and looked around...not too scientific, but for a budget TV that is really all you need.

Is this one of the "black friday" sku's that are typically made as cheaply as possible specifically for black friday? Or is this the normal sku for the TCL 75"?

Just an fyi, I decided to compare this Black Friday model to the regular model. The only major difference I could find is that it weighs 10 POUNDS LESS. Usually it's the speakers that get gutted.

I was also comparing the two and found them identical in dimensions and weight. These are the specs from the Best buy website.

Black Friday Model:75S45 - 48.5lbs
Regular Model:75S455 - 48.5lbs

Probably going to pick this one up versus the Samsung 75 at costco as the TCL got better ratings on rtings.

Is this any good? Any other better alternatives at the same price or cheaper?
