Adapter also allows you to use a headset plugged in the controller.

The adapter also supports up to 4 or 8 (don't remember exactly) controllers so if you want to play Overcooked on PC with your buddies, you can. I used to have 1 Xbox One controller pair via BT, 1 USB wired Xbox 360 controller, 1 PS3 controller with a USB extension cable and 1 PS4 controller with USB extension cable. Needless to say, setup takes like 15min vs now, it's 1 USB adapter and we're up and running ez peasy. Only regret is not getting it sooner and wasting money on the Sony adapter.

I was in the market for the pc adapter. If you are also look for the controller, you can think of the adapter as 10 dollars. The adapter is really hard to find these days lower than $25. I was using bt until finding this. I use BT connection with 3 of them and they sometimes forget the pc or drop out randomly even with the firmware update and I use the BT on intel ax200 card over pci line. Being able to use it headset adapter is also a plus. Even though it doesn't really reduce the input lag much, reliability is enough to justify buying the adapter for pc.

This adapter is super hard to find, and normally $30 - I bought it just for the adapter.

But, you can plug/connect the headphones into the pc so no need?

That said, bluetooth has been fine for me for the past ~2 years. I haven't noticed any significant lag between pc and xbox controller.

For others, be sure to update the controller firmware before you start using it. You'll need a usb cable to a pc to update it.

You are assuming that that person's rig supports a 4 pole single plug which many gaming headsets are.

I hear you but the ability to get sound from the controller is nice and helpful for many

Good find, Winblows10 updates have consistently nuked the ability of my controllers to connect through BT. Was flawless when PC was new, have tried multiple adapters AND controllers; these dongles seem to just work reliably. Wasted days trying to troubleshoot- only to shrug it off as "F#cking MS again.."
