I agree that it would be nice if they were. While they are at it, let's make them $299.
Normally we get a meaningful increase in performance per dollar with a new generation. Instead they decided to shift the entire scale upwards. Why give them more for their money when we can just dangle progress in front of them, and REEDUCATE them that if you want more performance you pay more money, regardless of time elapsed. Is RTX 5080 going to be 50% faster than 4080 and release at $1800? Lol. The BS can't continue indefinitely. They are shifting the scales upward, or trying to. That sounds nice except...people are pissed about the 4080 12GB BS lie disaster (which at least they owned up to, sort of...after getting caught with no excuse : /), we are in a recession, demand from the mining crash is extremely weak, the used market is saturated, and AMD is bringing notable competition at MUCH more competitive prices.
I suspect rapid discounts in the coming months. Hold.
