"...and have not otherwise previously taken advantage of Fidelity's $50 for $100 cash offer."
FOR CONTEXT : I am a current fidelity customer. I've had an account with them for a few years now, never participated or received any promo offers.
Roughly 12 hours ago I opened one of the qualifying accounts with the promo code. This morning I received an email confirming my eligibility of the the $150 promo and confirmation of the details previously listed.
Can we open these for kids?

idk if it will work... buuuttttt, I took part in the promo you mentioned in this comment and made a new Roth with the link on SD, deposited $50 - then, to confirm it "might" work, I tried to do it again; however the second time it said, "sorry, you are ineligible.. blah blah". Worth a shot... if not, move the $50 back to your bank account after a month or so... or $200 if ur lucky.. or invest it and make more monies possibly
Can I qualify for the bonus by opening another Fidelity Account if I already have one?
So long as you didn't previously do their promotion within the past 12 months, I'd assume it'd work.
You don't need an actual new account -- like a brand new Fidelity acct (which you couldn't do anyway unless you turned into 2 people) ... but you can get multiple brokerage or cash management accounts from fidelity. They just sort of pile up into one big account.
Question: I know eligibility for roth/IRA is dependent on MAGI, which is conveniently a number that the IRS does not provide concisely, instead it's basically your AGI with stuff added back in. How moronic that eligibility of so many things is a function of MAGI but they don't tell you exactly what it is, and if you don't calculate it correctly they can penalize you.
That said, what ARE the penalties? I was going to set up a roth IRA with an existing FA (Edward Jones) but if these guys are going to give me $$ for it, all the better.
Marked "Helpful" because I had no idea such a thing existed (even though I currently have no use for it). Learning FTW!!
Slickdeals isn't JUST about penny pinchers grubbing for deals! (mostly, sure, but not ONLY)
Use the link and make sure FIDELITY150 promo code is in the application.
Once the account is created (you can have multiple brokerage and CMA accounts for instance), I renamed the account (via customize) so I know which account I need to fund.
It MUST be externally funded so this is new $$$ coming into Fido.
Crap, I guess I'm hosed then. Opened one of these for my daughter for her 18th birthday and put several hundred in to get her started (didn't invest anything, it's just sitting in the sweep for now). Used the promo code ($100 at the time) but they said (when she called them) that the promotion had expired, and money didn't hit the account in time (I contest that...now I didn't actually BUY anything in the account, again, just moved the money there, but certainly within 7-10 days after opening, but maybe the promo itself ended before that money hit).
Anyone know of a way out of this to get THIS promo with money sitting in an existing account (but never having taken advtanage of a promo). I'm wishing now I had opened it in my name so I could "deal" with this (although good learning experience for her). Thanks. If I just open a new account, I would have to drain the other account, triggering a tax effect, no? (although no gains, sooooo??)

It should work. I signed up for the $100 promo last year and still qualify for this $150 promo. Worst case, the software will tell you that you are not eligible for this offer during registration.
The offer specifically mentions 4 account types, which were offered during sign-up, but there were also other accounts to select that you could open, but only the first 4 were elligible:
The Fidelity Account®
Fidelity® Cash Management Account
Roth IRA
Traditional IRA
Signed up for this earlier this month and this morning I see $100 added to my account this morning, but I thought it was $150? Anyone else run into this?
I've had a Fidelity Brokerage acct since mid 1990s. Saw a video by ROB BERGER on youtube who recommended Fidelity's cash management accts.
Opened yesterday without knowing about this $150 deal.
Simply opened another individual acct just now thru the bonus link and opened another acct.

Why....don't you just call them and ask directly?
"Thanks for registering for the $150 cash reward.
As a reminder, you have up to 15 calendar days to deposit $50 or more to qualify.
You'll receive the $150 within 25 days after you fund a new eligible account."
