To be clear, the 2010 Sony is certainly not superior. You just prefer an IPS panel for your needs I guess. The advantage of IPS over VA panels is that they have wide viewing angles. The disadvantage is that even straight ahead, their blacks and contrast is much worse than VA panels...and for most situations, VA panels are just way better.

There are cheap IPS TVs that are much better than your 2010 Sony. If viewing angle is much more important for you than image quality, check out entry level LG TVs - most of their panels are IPS.

OLEDs have good viewing angles, too...but they don't really belong in a $200 65" TV thread.
I felt like the 2010 Sony was better all around.

I'll be first to admit most of my content is H264/H265 1080p sourced data and local broadcast (hence 1080i or 720p, typically) so I'm not fully taking advantage of the 4K bits on the display, but the 2010 Sony overall just looked better, head on or not.

Tell me you failed 7th grade pre-algebra without telling you you failed 7th grade pre-algebra. Do you think 2 12 inch pizzas are bigger than 1 18 inch pizza?

I have the 65S431I bought at Walmart six months ago. For a cheap TV it's actually really good, and the Roku is a plus for me. Lots of inputs, too - the HDMI ARC port isn't eARC, but it still usually passes Atmos. If I needed another one, I'd buy it.

Moto Android phone was not able to cast to TCL 4 series Roku TV but works on TCL 4 series Google tv. Any particular options to make it work? 👍

U8H HiSense is an unfair comparison tbh. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but the U8H (8 series) is HiSenses flagship model, versus TCLs 4 series is their budget model.

This is a better deal than the previous 55 inch at $188 two weeks ago.
Any thoughts on the 55 inch Google TV at Best Buy for $199 today? The latter is a series 5 and I know you can add a Roku stick, but would the OS affect it's performance? I would personally prefer this one for size and Roku but debating on if the Series 5 is better overall.

Moto phones only support chromecast for screen mirroring. So you need to buy a chromecast streaming device; since, Roku only supports miracast and airplay.
