I bought the $188 one and it was trash. Straight-on viewing was ..ok... but anything at even a slight angle and it was awful. This is the 55S41 $188 on Nov 8 or thereabouts, that I'm micro-reviewing.
I took it back, and I'll keep using a 2010 Sony; the Sony was superior.
I have a TCL 55" 4 series since they dropped to $299… like back in 2017. Used in bedroom so it's only straight - on viewing, room isn't large enough to test wide angles. But we have been very happy with the TV at price paid.

My $188 tcl arrived broken and seemed very cheaply made. I know it's a budget tv but it might as well have been made of paper mache.
Couldn't pay me to take a Google/Android tv. Had a 85" Sony TV with that OS and most of the apps/OS was crashing all the time. Moved to a LG Oled and it's better with Web OS, BUT the most unstable apps on the TV are the google ones (Youtube TV & Youtube App).
I'm an Android phone user so nothing against Google, but they just can't figure out how to optimize their apps/platform on tv's for some reason (or just don't do enough testing).
People were reporting both. I personally was able to order one of each for home delivery, and I didn't move on buying either one until the day after each one went live.
