I bought the $188 one and it was trash. Straight-on viewing was ..ok... but anything at even a slight angle and it was awful. This is the 55S41 $188 on Nov 8 or thereabouts, that I'm micro-reviewing.
I took it back, and I'll keep using a 2010 Sony; the Sony was superior.
I have a TCL 55" 4 series since they dropped to $299… like back in 2017. Used in bedroom so it's only straight - on viewing, room isn't large enough to test wide angles. But we have been very happy with the TV at price paid.
How did you buy the warranty? Under my "Subscriptions & plans ---> Protection Plans" it says - "Sorry, it looks like you don't have any eligible products."
Kind of bummed. I was comparing a couple of deals last night, decided to go with this one, and all of a sudden the "add to cart" button disappears, replaced with the "check local stores inventory at 6am"?? Then I get up at 6 am just for this purpose, thinking that button will allow me to check local inventory, but nope.
I guess rather than being a button, it was a poorly written message that they had yanked the online deal and you needed to physically be at the store this morning and just hope and pray they have it in stock?
Pretty crappy execution.
Anyway, any thoughts on whether this will show back up for cyber Monday? If not, what's the next best bang for your buck for something approximately this size?
Anyone else wondering how TV's are still so cheap when everything else has gotten so expensive?
Anyway I bought the 55" version 3 years ago and it's still running strong. Don't know how different this version is.
Not sure. Less demand? Maybe when COVID hit everyone went out and bought a new TV thinking that's all they'd be doing for a while and because of that not many people need one now.
