You mention Samsung failures, but at what scale? I am sure there are more Samsung drives in the field by a large margin. You are bound to hear more reports. Also if or when you need support, do you think NoEgg or MSI are going to help? The only thing this deal has is a $20 price advantage. I have a friend who always reminds me you get what you pay for. I don't always agree with him, but in this case $20 on 2tb of data does not seem a good deal to me.

Agree mostly on MSI customer service, or LACK of! Fwiw, this is about 5-10% slower than 980 pro.
Plus Samsung magician new software issues excellent and gives peace of mind with transparency

While the M470 seems to work, the thing that concerned me was at 10:30 the guy mentioned that when he took the two MSI SSDs out of the PS5 the heatsinks were really hot(you figure no kidding, they're heat sinks), but he compared them to the WD Black SN850 and said it felt pretty cool. For that reason .. I'm out.

So when he said heatsink, does he means the separated heatsink or the heat spread. But it is way cheaper than samsung or wd
In the comments someone asked about the heatsink and he pointed to this one, but it's not currently available for sale anymore, but I am assuming it's what he's referring to since he mentioned the "heatsink" was very hot.

When looking for the link above in the comments, I saw this one that talked about having issues with the read speeds dropping to the 3000's(look for this comment and the replies to it for some others that mention also seeing slower speeds on it.
"Ugh, tearing my hair out with the m470! I saw videos like this saying it should be 5600 but I just got one from black Friday and... It's reading 3800!!! Tried it multiple times and I have a decent heatsink. Idk if it's swapped components or Sony patched the drive testing? Could you retest your m470 with the newest patches and see if you still get 5600"
