Our very own thread to discuss and chat about the OS, ROM's, apps from Android Market, our Android phones, tips & tricks, questions, and help issues. With the different phones out now and to be released from various carriers, I figure we all have a lot in common with the Android OS. We can discuss what we like, need help with, what apps are cool or don't work well, as well as questions and help issues. Given that CSR's from the various carriers may know less than we do, this thread is for all of us so we can help one another.

Tried everything suggested with Handcent, but it still would not provide an alert when the screen was locked and the phone asleep. Uninstalled and installed chomp. So far my tests show chomp working well with no issues for alerts.

The only problem I've run across with chomp is that it won't let you send more then 200 texts without going into the settings and hitting reset on the sent text count.

i've never had that problem.. i've sent more than 500 without resetting before

Hmmm, not understanding the problems with Handscent. I'm running it with no problem whereas Chomp was actually kind of buggy for me and had issues.

Don't you have a myTouch though? Difference may be the Sense UI over Android with the Hero.

All I know is that when the default message app is fixed I'm going back to it as I prefer it over any of the market messaging apps.
