Oh I see; new line kills the deal. I maxed out number of lines I am allowed to add to my current plan (all free lines from the previous promos)
If you're on the Simple Plan (I have 10 lines, most of them free as well), then the Costco activation fails. The Tmobile folks started the process, opened my account, and all my lines are grayed out.
I was just there yesterday just trying to get the $720 iPhone14 for my mom's line upgrade. Couldn't do it.
If you can, great, just wanted to share.

For some reason, I thought the max limit was 8.
I have seven lines, three are paid (minimum for the TMobile One), and four are free.
$112/mo
Excuse my ignorance, but how did you get the four free lines?

How much are you paying for the 12 lines? Lol
You just cancel the line after you get the cards. You'll eat about two months in line costs. This isn't a terrible deal.

I wish Verizon starts to at least try to compete with these offers from T-Mobile at Costco

Can anyone post calculations for minimum cost of ownership by keeping a cheaper plan for minimum days/month?

Not who you quoted, but over the last several years, TMobile offered free lines (not add line get line free offer) to try and drive up "subscribers" numbers. Many of us jumped on this and added multiple free lines when they were available. I think 2021 was the last year one has been offered, and based on those in the know, these free line offers may not come back anytime soon.

I just recently learned what the hard way of about how some T-Mobile trade in deals work. In my case, I purchased an Iphone 14 Pro ($1000) with $400 credits for my old cracked (on back) phone but they didn't explain that the trade in credit for your phone is not credited toward the newly purchased phone thus lowering your payment. You get a bill credit within 2 mos. The $400 credit consisted of $35 for my old phone and $365 in bill credits for a total of $400. When I was purchasing the phone, I told the T-mobile rep that I didn't want to have a monthly payment even still, they recommended against paying my entire portion of the amount due for the phone all at once. Now, I have a $26 monthly payment that I don't want. (I know that it's 0% money but monthly cash flow is tight right now and I have the money to pay the phone off) To top it all off, I called T-Mobile and asked them if I could pay off the amount I was responsible for currently to have no monthly payment and they said no. So T-mobile doesn't want extra money right now? Remember, they still had me locked in as customer because of the monthly credits. Doesn't make sense. So, If you truly don't want a phone monthly payment you will need to know how much of a trade in value you will get for your current phone and subtract that from the total amount of credits offered. In my case (400 - 35 = $365) Then, subtract this amount from the total price of the new phone and pay T-mobile this amount at the time of purchase. (1000 - 365 = $635 still not bad for a new Iphone 14 Pro) Not cool T-Mobile. Lesson learned. I wanted to add four more lines to this account, not likely.

Does this deal allow for a trade in to reduce costs?

You can't do monthly plans at Costco even if you wanted to, for TMo. You have to buy the phones outright and then get the rebate x number of weeks later.

Also no trade in for this deal. It's a BOGO when you add a new line.

Aren't you supposed to keep the line for a minimum number of months (like 12 or so ?). I have 4 lines for tmobile one and need to get two iphone 14s for my boys.. so the deal works out for me ONLY if i could drop the newly added line after 3-4 months..

You have much to learn young grasshopper. You'd save money going to 9 lines as the free lines get a $30 credit each.
