Price at the warehouse is $699, so you can save the $15 shipping if you go to store. Seems like a pretty strong set of features for the price.

Alder Lake's frequency sweet spot is 4GHz for the big cores, and 3GHz for the small cores. Any higher frequency will improve performance at the cost of much higher energy (20% perfomrance boost with 80% more energy). Source[/URL]]
You should limit the big core to 4GHz and the small cores to 3GHz, your PC will perform 20% slower (but a lot of task are not CPU bound, many are disk bound which won't be affected), but it will be 40% cooler. You can also make different power profiles and switch between them if you need to.

Macbook Pro M1 2020 Vs This one??
Now have both laptop. Bought the Macbook M1 in Jan. At that time I couldn't find a portable laptop with good screen and metal build good keyboard at that price point.
This ASUS laptop has nice screen like Mac pro xdr display and also expandable mem and storage options.
I will try this fist before going for the M1. And feel you can even keep it as man laptop.
Edit- i am setting it up today but the fan is always on unless in whisper mode. All updates done. Not sure will keep it. Yeah looks like they put a desktop processor in a laptop.
Update: on the 3 rd day the fan is not coming up often even in performance mode.
I ordered RAM and another ssd , will try windows 10.
Considering citi extended warranty is going away in Jan its better to buy before that and will see if this is the one or not.

Upgrading the RAM is easy. Just open the back and then switch out the RAM. I upgraded the SSD at the same time also. Here is a video about how to open the back:

It is for a different Asus 14" laptop, but the process is the same. You don't need to remove the battery to replace the RAM or SSD. The only tricky part in this process is that you need a plastic pry tool to open the back. You can get them for less than $4 on Amazon. This is similar to the one used in the video and costs $3.29 for a 10 pack:

Pretty much any 32GB DDR4 SO-DIMM will work fine. Here is one for $77:

It's back on again.
I installed 32 Gb RAM of T-create today and it shows 40 now.

Update- it was very difficult to install 10, difficulty finding drivers. So went back to 11.
