I went into the bios and the ram brand was kingston, it says fury on the stick. Bios is Asrock. B660M-C 2.02. Gpu is gigabyte.

To me, it's a no-brainer. BB has extended return period to mid-Jan 2023 and no restocking fee if unopened. So buying it and waiting a few days to see if a better deal comes up.

If yes, I return it.
If no, I open it.

I bought this yesterday at a Best Buy in Maryland. Here's the hardware it came with if someone wants to know more specifics on what is less descript on Best Buy's website.

PNY GeForce RTX 3070 8GB
Apacer 8GB DDR 3200 CL-16-20-20-38 (2x)
Apacer M.2 2280 PCIe Gen3 x4 1TB NVMe 1.3
GIGABYTE B660 DS3H AC DDR4

The video card needs to be removed to access the second M.2. I popped in a better and bigger SSD. I will install Windows on my drive. The computer is very quiet.

I know everyone is waiting for the unicorn 3080 at a similar price, but here's an iBuyPower 12700KF, 3080, 700w psu w/ liquid cooling for $1499.

Thinking of picking this up. Any BB coupons floating around? Used some in the past for like 10% off when you use your Best Buy credit card.

Not that I've seen, however, you can get 24mo interest-free on BB cc. That might as well be a coupon.

I don't game but want a fast computer and this seems like a cheap way instead of parting things out, right? The only intensive thing I'll be doing is video editing and I'll want to future proof for in case I start working with 8k video. I'm thinking of sticking my current card old, slow card in this and selling the card to recoup some of the cost. I've left out a lot of details to keep this short but I can expand on things if necessary. Thoughts?

The one from Woot is way better deal. For only $50 more, you have DDR5 and a 3080. Only drawback it has 180 days warranty. But by that time, you know if there is any issue.

Would have grabbed that one if I had seen it before it sold out. I have one almost just like it and need another. It's been fine for me but maybe I got lucky so far.

How much is the overheating really a concern? I know it sounds like you can replace the cooler with just a better air cooler pretty easily, but I'm just hesitant to get into a machine that requires an aftermarket upgrade out of the box. Otherwise this seems a really good deal.
100% recommend upgrading AIO cooler or else that processor is going to be 90-100c running at full steam and 70-80c with a water cooler.

For editing you'll want to bump up the RAM to 32GB (just add 2 more 8GB sticks of the same type) or 64GB (replace all sticks with 16GB sticks). The processor is OK for video editing but there are faster processors out there right now. Some software uses the GPU for hardware acceleration in encoding and rendering. Suggest you test with the 3070 and your old card before deciding to sell the 3070.

any recommendations if i wanted upgrade ram to 32GB?
A good checkpoint when you buy a computer (either laptop or desktop) is the memory configuration. This one has 2 8gb sticks, which means you will need to purchase either 1 32gb stick (if the mobo can accept it) or 2 16gb sticks and throw away (or sell) the existing sticks.

EDIT: Sorry. What I said should be applicable to most laptops but not all desktops. Desktop MOBOs typically have 4 RAM slots. So, you may want to add 2 8gb sticks.

Thanks-- will refuse shipment for my MSI order from Newegg for 3080ti. Can't justify the $460 extra for my uses plus added benefit of not dealing with rebates. Although I wish this case wasn't so massssive since I mount it under my standing desk.

If you have a little bit of price flexibility, this one has a 12700KF w/ 240mm AIO liq cool, 3080, and 750w psu for $1499. Plus the CPU has ECC ram support, however it runs about double the power draw.
