These are only common level gear and +2 to your strength/body stat. There are better choices out there unless you are low level and trying to grind to better stats. A warning though some think these add +5 to charisma and I see many failing attempts by folks trying impress potential mates/companions.
Hahah what?
Other dude stuff like not listening to other dudes on the internet giving psuedo alpha advice?
...I have calluses and still own a pair of gloves. (Just bought these). The point is, the deal is slick. Buy a cheap pair and use them when you need them. With my gloves on or off, I still mange to outlift 90% of people in the gym. I got there by not listening to the "dude" who is more concerned about what other "dudes" think....

I don't want to remove my ring when working out. Gloves help with that. The thing I don't like about the ones with wrist straps is it doesn't work well with Apple Watch or other wrist wear.

Bodybuilders don't necessarily always lift heavier. They have specific workout routines that are more focused on how to make your muscles look good. On the other hand, there are power lifters who actually go for extremely heavy weights and push themselves to the max. Weight lifting gloves are more appreciated by such power weight lifters, rather than bodybuilders.

Does anyone know the thickness of these gloves? The last ones I bought at Amazon where very thin I might as well not have used gloves.

I wear Harbinger Pro non-wrist wrap gloves (4.4 out of 5 stars with like 3k reviews) forever and they have worked great for me. The older that they get the better it feels. Eventually the threads wear out by the side of the finger holes and that seems to be the first thing that goes. I am not sure how I feel about the wrist wrap part of these gold's gym gloves. I don't need wrist support. How would these compare to the Harbinger Pro non-wrist wrap? Harbinger has the glossy leather and nubuck leather and I think that is better material but I don't care if the Gold's Gym glove "lesser" material as long as it gets the job done.

"A callus is an area of thickened and sometimes hardened skin that forms as a response to repeated friction, pressure, or other irritation."

What is more comfortable for the person? Flexible skin hands or dry hard callus hands? The more the callus grows, the less feel you have. If you rip a callus and get infection from some barbell, it will be a terrible experience. Protect skin from calluses, sores, blisters and harmful bacteria.

I put a billion hours into the gym (way more than the average lifter) and lift heavy. If I didn't wear gloves, my hands would be extremely rough. People need to take care of their hands. When I work underneath the car, I wear mechanic gloves. Working in the yard? Gloves. Boxing? Always wrapped. Always protect the hands. I don't "need" gloves but I know it will help protect my hands from real bad callus. Even with the gloves, I still have little bit callus in the upper part of the palm and below the fingers.

Meh I wear gloves because I don't want calluses. If that makes me less manly somehow, so be it.

Nope. Only Esporta Fitness will accept them since LA Fitness is an upper-echelon gym.

Why would you use chalk for running? If you're still having grip issues with chalk then you should work on grip strength...not saying you shouldn't buy the gloves just that it's a bandaid solution that will not help the inderlying issue. Grip strength correlates to a range of better health outcomes and longer life.
