I bought one of these double ninja air fryers and they are not that great,

My old $100 one we had for a few years worked so much better, was larger, heated up / cooked faster, and had things like Pre-Heat & Auto pause when you open the bin.

These seem to take twice as long when using both bins and they are for sure smaller than my old single unit. Just something to consider

What's the difference between dz550 (this) and dz401 (one at the amazon with same description and same price)?

That defeats half the purpose of this thing, anyone else have this issue too?
I bought this from Costco, definitely don't have that issue. I load up both baskets with frozen preseasoned wings and can get them crispy in 20-21 minutes on 390°F.
I'm unsure what the other user was talking about but maybe they adjusted the settings/temp on the other basket. There's also Smart Cook option that can extend the time. This setting is so your meal comes out all at once and you don't have one item getting cold while another is still cooking.
Anyways, we use this with the pork belly from Costco. Dry the skin and put your seasonings on, let sit in fridge for a day. Cook up crispy pork belly so go with rice/noodles/whatever else you want and a dinner that everyone eats.
There's two things I'm not exactly thrilled about with this model: The size and extension cord length. This thing is massive, for me anyways. This takes up half of a base cabinet. We have dedicated one side of a cabinet to this thing as we don't like it sitting on the counter. Gets a little heavy after a long day and the last thing you want to do is clean up. The other thing I don't like is the cord length. It seems short; maybe 3'. I place this on the island to save prep space for other things and the outlets are a little far. The hot air exits out the back with some force and we have to pay attention where we aim the exhaust.

Is this better than the $99 one on Walmart (other than higher capacity)? https://www.walmart.com/ip/Ninja-.../625972382

Most of the reviews I've seen of this do say using 2 baskets takes longer to cook than using one basket, but I don't know if it's "twice as long". I've seen several youtube video reviews where they've stated this or had to go beyond the recommended time for whatever they're cooking when they used 2 baskets at once. That being said, I knew this was the case and decided to get one anyway. It's not a deal-breaker for me. About the only thing that scares me is that I'm single, so I'd mostly be cooking just for me, and this thing is about the size of a Buick. I hope I didn't buy too much air fryer for one person. lol. But again, I know that going in. Mine should arrive today or tomorrow. Hopefully it works out.

I think the major differences are the DZ550 is a newer model, it's got the readout/screen on the front, it doesn't have the dial, it has a thermometer you can use to monitor your food's temperature (like a steak or something). I've heard mixed reviews about the accuracy of the thermometer, though. Not sure if there are any other differences.

Yes Costco one is water down. It can't do the 450 degrees with one try and is missing 2 features. Sorry can't think of the 2 features at the top of my head but I bought it at best buy for the full features.

The only problem is that I wanted this with the lift out baskets. I think it is so much easier and the food cooks better with the small airflow seperation between the side walls. These lift out bottom panels are a pain.

I've had mine since last BF and I love it. Yes, it does take longer if you're running both sides at once, but not a big problem for me. I'm always cooking bacon in one side and meat taste much better reheated in this as apposed to the microwave. It's very easy to clean. I got mine from Kohls regularly priced at $160 but 25% off + I had Kohls cash I had to spend, so I got it for a good price.

I have a Gourmia 9qt from Costco but it's single tray. I tried the Gourmia version of this, dual 10qt. Each tray isn't big enough to hold much and a whole chicken like the pic shows is misleading. It'd be pretty tight for a 10-12lb chicken. Didn't work for me maybe someone I should've used a smaller chicken Wink
I'm waiting for a 12qt dual if they ever make one or larger.
You talking about a 12 lb chicken or Turkey? I buy chicken every week to roast, and have never seen a 12 lb chicken for sale.

I bought this refurbished on Woot a few weeks ago. Only thing I have made is chicken wings and they turned out pretty good. Only thing I can warn you about is don't think you will save time with two baskets. It doubles the cooking time if you use both baskets at the same time. It was 45 minutes to make two baskets of wings, but one basket takes half that amount of time.
Isn't this normal for when you increase the amount of food to cook using anything?
