Cheap amazon shocks fit if you measure the stock ones. Ditto wheels. Other parts are available on b@nggood if not ebay. I believe all of these come with two batteries.
HBX 18859a [amazon.com] - $100 - lowest ever - My favorite 18th scale truck (like 8" x 9" x 4" tall or so) brushless, oil shocks, crazy fast, comes with 2 bodies, I have never broken anything on it
HBX 18859e [amazon.com] - $65 - Lowest ever - Brushed version, friction shocks. Fine for kids or if you want to try a decent RC car cheap
HBX 18868 [amazon.com] - $70 - Basically the same as the 18859e but updated and a sweet looking body
Hyper Go H16GT [amazon.com] - $84 - The 16th scale that made me fall in love with tiny trucks. Solid as a rock. I don't think anything has broken. Brushed but pretty quick! Great first car and good for any age on low speed. Love it. It has a GPS module so you can see it on a map and see the real time speed. Neat but I'm paranoid so I uninstalled the app. There was a hardware bug on mine and the one I gave as a gift - you have to power the remote on in bind mode by holding the headlight button down while you turn it on every time, instead of just once. Small small annoyance but coincidentally I literally just now had to remind my son how to do this.
Hyper Go H16DR [amazon.com] - $75 - Same as the H16GT but different colored body, no GPS and no weird hardware bug. Both have controllable headlights. Cannot reccomend these enough, may buy more for gifts. Both these have gone as low as $70 and as high as $100.
Hyper Go H16BM [amazon.com] - $120 - I have a different color but the otherwise the same model. It is scary fast. Brushless, oil shocks, it can take 3s but honestly why? It's already crazy. The brushless models are newer than the brushed and don't feel quite as solid to me. Still just as good as HBX, maybe I'm biased because I had the older style first and it really is sexy. I let a kid drive this at the clay track and it was way too much for him. Broke a shock and basically broke off the wing and wheelie bar. I still like it but durability is a little lower than the others on this list.
Some people may be turned off of Hyper Go models because they have a proprietary battery. However! They still use a Dean's T connector like all the models on this list, so these 1100mah batteries at 2 for $19 [amazon.com] will fit right in there and the battery hold-down will hold them down just fine. Those batteries will fit in any of the models on this list, and at this capacity, the USB chargers that come with them work just as well as more heavy-duty chargers and will recharge in about an hour.
No I am not a shill, just a fan. Happy Thanksgiving!
