I just got this blender for specifically crushing ice. This blender is amazing. It crushes ices in less than two minutes. It is so easy to use. The ice is fine like a snowcone. Totally recommend.

Is it loud? I've talked to many people who own Ninja blenders and that is their main complaint.

I would agree that it can be loud. The ice banging around makes it sound worse. I would say the sound of the machine could be compared to a vacuum. I don't crush ice after 10pm because I don't want to disturb my apartment neighbors. It's not a deal breaker for me since the unit is so simple to use. The noise is for less than 2 minutes for 2 pounds of ice which makes about 60 ounces of snow.
