After buying rocket drives for several years I don't recommend them anymore after having to deal with their warranty service. I have two drives I know I registered and they didn't honor the warranty on them saying that that they were never registered. That and having two out of four drives fail it's pretty horrendous.

Subjective but.... this feels $50 high compared to other recent deals.

I agree. Theres far more comparable drives in the $160-170 range with comparable specs. Also the PS5 recommends 5500 write but truly any Gen 4 m.2 will suffice based on various articles

So this will run with the PS5 or not? I'm a bit confused.

Also, completely anecdotal but I ordered a 2Tb Sabrent Rocket 4 shipped and sold by Amazon and received a sealed box with no m.2 device inside earlier this year. Patriot has some people inside their packaging facility skimming off the top. Amazon did give me a full refund but I'm sure I have some arbitrary mark on my Amazon record now.

Why would anyone buy this over the 980 PRO heatsink for the same price? Lol

I was eyeing their 8T drive but it was never in stock so I gave up in the last and bought 4T from another brand.

bought the used 1TB a couple of months ago for $78 from ebay shipped so this is a decent deal imo. I have no problem whatsoever using this drive daily as my main OS drive.

Got 1tb for my main, and then a 2tb for my second when they went on sale last year. The drive failed and customer service was excellent. Went through troubleshooting, sent pics of drive not functioning as well as proof of purchase (Amazon order screenshot). Mailed defective drive and got a new one!

700 TBW @ 1TB capacity, or 1400 TBW @ 2TB capacity.
Less than half of what Seagate Firecuda 520 1TB /2TB can!

Pass...

If my laptop (Thinkpad P1) only has PCIe 3.0 x 4, does it matter if I choose this drive vs the Crucial P5 Plus? Also is it safe to assume a 1TB is going to be single sided? I apparently can't fit a double side SSD in there.
