Would standard matchbox cars work with such hot wheels set? We got invested in 50 matchbox cars and it seems wasteful to buy a whole new set of cars just for the track sets. Thanks and reps.

Most of them will. Some of the larger ones won't fit into the launcher but this is the same with hot wheels.
