Reolink motorized cameras have pretty shitty build quality, moisture getting into lens, camera staying out of focus, PTZ not returning to preset point

My 3x Wi-Fi models have been fine so far. I ordered three at launch, and they ended up sending me three more "free replacements" for some unknown reason last month... I figured their email in Sept was an error, but then I got UPS emails and spent all day trying to figure out what I'd ordered. I don't know where to even put the remaining two. Their FB group admin said they were due to the delays of my first order, but they weren't delayed.

I use them without an NVR and have 256gb High Endurance microSD cards in them. I've previously had Arlo, Wyze and currently Eufy 2K indoor cameras that I've been using outside since they launched in May of 2020. I'd added 25mm zoom lenses to a couple of my Eufy cameras, which is quite a bit more zoomed in than the zoom lens/1080p camera on the TrackMix. ReoLink doesn't offer Rich Notifications with preview pics like Eufy does, and also doesn't offer affordable Cloud Storage like Eufy does, so I don't think I'll be getting rid of my Eufys anytime soon, but it's nice to have a lot higher quality bitrate, frame rate, and audio quality cameras as well.

At this price point, or a bit more for the wi-fi version (only 4K wi-fi camera out there), I don't think you can go wrong, especially if you're planning on using them without an NVR and only with the $30 Samsung High Endurance SD cards like me.

From Amazon (not exactly an answer you would want confirming full onvif compatibility):

Q: Is it onvif compatible?
A: Hello. Please don't worry. This Auto 6X Hybrid Zoomed Tracking camera can work with some third-party software. Feel free to contact us via Amazon message if you need further assistance. see less

The E1 def has to be hung upside down correctly and even then, I'm not sure of the longevity of it. It seems like a ripoff now, compared to the TrackMix. The TrackMix had just been announced when I decided to buy an E1 to give ReoLink a try, but I figured the TM would be $220-275ish too. If I'd known how affordable the TM was going to be at launch, I would have waited and never bought the E1.

Seems reasonable to me since they do offer a 2.5 year warranty. They're far from perfect when it comes to their app, and I still prefer my Eufy cameras, but Eufy nor anyone else offers a 4K + 1080p zoom camera with wifi for $160.

I had so much trouble with (and spent so much time troubleshooting) the E1 Outdoor that I managed to get store credit to trade it in for the Trackmix POE. It isn't perfect, but it does what I want well enough and improves at a decent pace.

I have a reolink and a 30$ waze camera with starlight sensors. The 30$ waze has much better picture quality. The reolink is connected to a solar panel and has been pretty reliable.

I was excited until I saw this: "6X hybrid zoom". Who wants a security camera with digital zoom for $150? They are too shy for some reason to state the optical zoom data

Has anyone set up one of these auto-tracking cameras with Blue Iris and left the stock tracking enabled? Is that even possible?
Seems like it would be a nice deterrent if the camera was obviously following/tracking someone on your property.

Very true. Our e1 slowly gets off track when it goes back to the home position until it is all the way to the left. And we can't get it to turn off now.

I dont want to jinx myself, but my RLC-423 has been sitting exposed for 2 years now in 110 Texas heat, survived a week long deep freeze/snow, sideways tornado rain storms, all day downpours and painters with their overspray.

Only maintenance so far is periodically wiping the lens with a microfiber cloth. (And paint thinner for the overpsray)

It's hybrid zoom between the 4k wide angel sensor and the 1080p zoom sensor.
