Weird "deal". It's cheaper at Wal-Mart every day:

Equate Mineral Oil Lubricant Laxative Liquid for Constipation, 16 FL OZ (474mL) https://www.walmart.com/ip/44807472

Every house should have a bottle. On top of everything already mentioned it conditions bamboo kitchen utensils, works as a nightime eye drops for dry eyes, keeps gun barrels from rusting in gun safes, and you can put it on your dingus.

Protip for the musicians among us: When done playing guitar, banjo or bass with uncoated strings, wipe them down with a thin coat of light mineral oil (food grade like in this thread) and then wipe them off. It makes the strings last a long time. (You'll fret a lot faster as well).

It's exactly what the product "Fast Fret" uses, but this is far cheaper.

This is great stuff. I too use it for cutting boards as well as piling the handles of kitchen/steak knives and the blades of knives that are high carbon steel. It won't turn rancid and orange like cooking oils.

Yeah, I bought 2 bottles of it at my local Target. It's sold in the medical aisles near where the contact solution is at (in that area). If you look at the front of the bottle, it's actually used as a laxative... so I guess, be careful not to put TOO MUCH on that cutting board when you're chopping those onions or you may be in for a few trips to the upstairs facilities. The fact that it's used as a laxative, though, shows just how "food grade" this stuff is.

As I wrote in the OP -- nobody else (except for maybe Kroger, which was only 50 cents more) was even close to Target's price.

EDIT - I see that Walmart's house brand is around the same price as well. As an FYI, using the Target Red Card, the Walmart and Target prices appear to be the same. One advantage of Target, though, you can order any dollar amount, online, and pick it up, whereas Walmart requires a $35 min order to even place an online order without a fee (delivery or pickup fee).

It won't affect you as a laxative on the cutting board. I soak cutting boards in mineral oil overnight after making them

It's usually the same price or lower at Walmart. Right now it's $2.08. Always good to have options!

Excellent post, wish other posts started out like this. I don't have quality boards worth taking care of but decided to buy a bottle, just in case. Thanks. Repped.

Food safe from petroleum. Maybe I'm the only one that thinks that sounds off.

good product, not a deal. I've been using this stuff for years on my boards and it's been this price as far back as I can remember
