They should give you free prime membership, and a $100 or $200 amazon giftcard as a sign up bonus/benefit

Obvious reasons aside, would the Chase version of this card be better than the regular amazon store card? I think this would be a nice fill gap between this and discover 5%.

why would anyone cancel a credit card? never a sound financial decision
Stupid chase didn't let me remove another user on the account. They said the only way is to cancel the card and reapplied. I never reapplied. But if they are willing to give me some kickback from reapplying then for sure. Also I don't need my credit score that high. Not looking to get any big loans anytime soon and chase was cheap on raising my credit limit on the amazon card anyways. So no hugh harm done to credit score at all.

If you apply, just use the amazon credit and dont use the card. close it a month later. its a pain in the ass to talk to anyone who works for this card and not worth the hasslte of actually using the card. its super easy to close
thanks, i'll think about that.

I cancel cards pretty regularly that I won't use or intend to churn in the future. Canceled this one over a year ago and might be able to double dip now. Doesn't make sense to open myself up to fraud if I'll never use the card after a sign up bonus but I a few cards a year. Credit above 800...

Credit reports are a scam unless you are dirt poor. They didn't exist before the 80s. You take a small point hit for closing a credit card, and 6 months later you'll have a 150+ increase for no reason. It's stupid.

People's credit scores go down when they pay off debt. It's a stupid system you shouldn't give a shit about unless you're broke and under 300.

Since it's a chase card can the rewards be transferred to the csp for travel partners?

That's not accurate at all. Leave it to the professionals..closing newer cards that aren't being used can help increase your average account age as well as allow you to be eligible for future promotions from that card.

it seems i'm eligible for the amazon store card, but a lot of bad reviews referring to synchrony bank ...

https://smile.amazon.com/Synchron...B008A0GNA8

... yet they all give it four stars
As someone who has, had, and will obtain, TONS of credit cards... synchrony bank is a decent bank. Their payment cutoff time is 11:59pm est on your payment date (as opposed to Comenity who has a 5pm est cut off time, at 5:01pm you're late and charged a late fee).

synchrony has easy credit increase methods, and i think for most cards, they have a 1 time per year late fee forgiveness... and you can initiate that all through internal messages within your credit account.

If you qualify, and don't have the synchrony amazon store card, and can get a good offer, i would jump on that in a heartbeat!

For reference, I have over 65 credit cards, $500k available credit, score of above 800, and 2 credit profiles. Not bragging, just context to show I know 'a little something' about the banks issuing cards, churning, etc... Smilie good luck
